Wood BOE meets Tuesday

PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Board of Education will meet Tuesday to discuss the district’s re-entry plan and a transfer of school property.

The board meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the district’s 13th and Plum street offices in Parkersburg. The meeting is open to the public, though seating is limited. The meeting also will be broadcast online through Zoom.

Those wishing to address the school board during public comment must do so in person.

The board has two main items of discussion for Tuesday’s meeting. Superintendent Will Hosaflook will give board members an update on the Wood County Schools re-entry plan, including results of a survey sent to parents and staff concerning re-entry.

The board also will be asked to vote on the transfer of Waverly Elementary School to the Waverly Volunteer Fire Department. If approved, the fire department would pay $5 to take ownership of the property.
