Wood BOE meets Tuesday

PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Board of Education will meet online Tuesday (Dec. 22) in  its final meeting of 2020.

The regular meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at Wood County Schools Central Office at 1210 13th Street in Parkersburg and will be broadcast online via Zoom. A full agenda and link to the online meeting can be found at www.woodcountyschoolswv.com under Menu: Policies: Meetings.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the meeting will occur primarily online. Those wishing to address the board during public comments must pre-register at https://tinyurl.com/v8nrdow and must give comments in-person at the board office. Each speaker will be asked to wait outside the meeting and will be allowed to enter the board room one at a time to speak.

The board Tuesday will hold a second and final public hearing on three draft calendars for the 2021-22 school year. Copies of the proposed calendars can be found in the online meeting agenda. 

Board members will select and approve a calendar during Tuesday’s meeting.

The board will receive a report from Superintendent Will Hosaflook concerning remote instruction and learning and possible plans for the second half of the 2020-21 school year. 

The board also will discuss and vote on an equipment lease purchase agreement and will discuss a 2021 Legislative Breakfast.
