Wood BOE approves superintendent contract

PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Board of Education Tuesday unanimously approved a four-year contract for Wood County Schools Superintendent Will Hosaflook.

The current three-year contract expires at the end of June, with the new contract taking effect July 1.

Board President Justin Raber praised Hosaflook for his work the past three years, but said many more challenges await the school system.

“We could not have done this without the leadership of Mr. Hosaflook and his team. More importantly, we couldn’t have done this without community support, and we have amazing community support behind this board and behind this superintendent,” Raber said. “We have a long ways still to go in everything we do. We believe in his leadership. He understands that we have very high expectations of him because we represent the best community in the state of West Virginia.”

Hosaflook said he has been blessed with an incredible staff of dedicated educators and a school board which shares his vision for Wood County Schools.

“I am honored by the Wood County Board of Education’s show of confidence in me,” Hosaflook said. “My goals remain unchanged: To make Wood County Schools number one in West Virginia and the Mid-Ohio Valley and to make sure our students have the best educational opportunities we can provide.”
