Wood BOE meets Tuesday

PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Board of Education will meet Tuesday (Feb. 23, 2021) in regular session.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Bailey Board Room at Wood County Schools Central Office at 1210 13th Street in Parkersburg, W.Va. The meeting is open to the public, though seating is limited due to social distancing and masks are required. The meeting will be broadcast online through Zoom.

The board will recognize Cecelia Fatta of Parkersburg High School, Nicholas Murphy of Parkersburg South High School andJacob Huggins of Williamstown High School as 2021 National Merit Scholarship Finalists, as well as Noah Galloway of Jackson Middle School, Jackson Wharton of Jackson Middle School and Evelyn Stout of Edison Middle School as the 2021 Wood County Schools Middle School Spelling Bee champions.

The board will receive an update on facilities from Assistant Superintendent Mike Fling and an update on the 2016 facilities  bond from Finance Director Whitni Kines. Superintendent Will Hosaflook will present his regular superintendent’s update.

The board also will consider a motion on payment of final engineering invoices presented by architectural and engineering firm ZMM.
