Wood BOE meets Tuesday

PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Board of Education will meet Tuesday (April 27, 2021) in regular session.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the Bailey Board Room at Wood County Schools Central Office at 1210 13th Street in Parkersburg, W.Va. The meeting is open to the public, though seating is limited due to social distancing and masks are required. The meeting will be broadcast online through Zoom.

The board will recognize new and renewed National Board Certified Teachers and will announce the Wood County Schools 2022 Teacher of the Year.

The board also will receive updates on the Wood County Technical Center cosmetology program from WVU-P, the old Williamstown Elementary Building from the City of Williamstown, and the Scholastic book review from the Curriculum and Instruction Department. 

The board will discuss and vote on several facilities projects, creation of two new positions using federal pandemic relief funding, and an employee suspension and termination.

Wood BOE to hold employee hearings Monday

PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Board of Education will meet Monday (April 26, 2021) in special session to conduct employee hearings.

The board is scheduled to meet beginning at 4:15 p.m. Monday at the district’s Central Office in Parkersburg. The meeting will not be broadcast.

The board is scheduled to conduct three employee hearings. Each employee has the right to request a closed hearing.
