Wood BOE meets Tuesday


PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Board of Education will meet in regular session Tuesday to receive an update on facilities and to recognize student achievements.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Wood County Schools Central Office at 1210 13th Street in Parkersburg. The meeting will be streamed online via Zoom. 

The board will honor several groups of students for their achievements. The board will recognize the West Virginia Golden Horseshoe Winners, the Parkersburg High School Boy’s Track State Champions, and the Williamstown High School Girl’s Track and Boy’s Tennis State Champions.

The board will receive an update on facilities from Assistant Superintendent Mike Fling and an I-Ready data presentation by the Curriculum and Instruction Department.

The board also will hold a public hearing on the naming of the Rod Oldham Athletic Center gym floor. The item will be up for a vote later in the meeting.
