Parkersburg High

On Friday, September 11, 2026 Parkersburg High School Student Council hosted the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony in honor of 1992 Parkersburg High School graduate Mary Lou Hague in the Stadium. The colors were presented by PHS NJROTC, while "The National Anthem" and "PHS Alma Mater" were sung by the PHS A Capella Choir under the direction of Mr. Dubs. Anabelle Schmidt, Student Council President, spoke on the significance of the day, as well as recognized first responders in attendance, including Parkersburg Police and Fire Departments. The fire department brought their ladder truck, with an American flag waving from the bucket, and rang a bell during a moment of silence. Remarks were then given by West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey and Parkersburg Mayor Tom Joyce. The keynote address was given by Cindy Bullock, the sister of Mary Lou Hague. Mary Lou's mother, Liza Adams was also in attendance. Closing remarks were given by PHS Principal, Mr. Jason Potts.
