PARKERSBURG, WV — First Mutual Bank has, through the Chamber of Commerce of the Mid-Ohio Valley’s Partner In Education program, entered into a collaboration with Kanawha Elementary School in Davisville. This meaningful partnership reflects a growing commitment to educational enrichment, community involvement, and the long-term success of local students.
The partnership brings together First Mutual Bank’s mission of empowering individuals through financial knowledge and Kanawha Elementary’s dedication to nurturing both academic and social growth among its students. As part of the initiative, First Mutual will support the school through financial literacy resources, outreach to families, and ongoing engagement in school-centered events.
“The partnership represents a shared commitment between the school and a community business,” said Stephanie Agee, Principal of Kanawha Elementary. “It shows our students that they are supported not just within the school walls, but by a broader network that believes in their potential. We envision this collaboration as a partnership to not only support our students but our families in their needs as well. Our hope is that this partnership continues to grow and becomes a model of how schools and partners can work together to create meaningful, sustainable change.”
First Mutual Bank, headquartered in Belpre, OH, with branches in Parkersburg and New Martinsville, WV, with deep roots in community banking, sees this partnership as part of a broader investment in the region’s future.
“First Mutual Bank believes in investing in the success of students by sharing financial education to help them succeed later in life,” said Tammy Belcher, President and CEO of First Mutual Bank. “We want to empower the educators and students by providing financial education, but also assisting in understanding the local needs facing our education system. We hope to influence students, educators, and their families with financial knowledge and letting them know how much they are appreciated in helping our community grow toward a brighter future.”
The Partner In Education program is an initiative of the Chamber of Commerce of the Mid-Ohio Valley designed to strengthen ties between education and industry. Through these partnerships, businesses can support student achievement, enhance educational experiences, and invest directly in the community’s future workforce.
