REMINDER: The Lubeck School Costume Parade is Thursday, October 28 at 2:00. Please do not arrive before 1:50. Families are welcome to attend. We ask that spectators go to the track as we will not be checking visitors into the building. Students will return to their classroom once the parade ends. They will gather their things and we will start dismissal for those taking children home. This will not be counted as an early dismissal for students leaving with parents. If it rains, the parade will be cancelled. There is not a rain date. Please look for updates via Facebook and text message if the parade is cancelled due to weather.

Lubeck Families, Those who pick up K-2 children on the Lubeck Road side may begin lining up at 2:40 each day. Lining up earlier creates challenges for buses who are arriving for dismissal. With one lane of the road blocked, buses struggle to safely pass parked vehicles. Children may not be dismissed in the car pick-up line until buses depart. Please share this with anyone who picks up K-2 students at the end of the day. Thank you for helping with this process!

Good evening Lubeck Families, There will be a Lubeck community service event on Saturday, September 11 at 8AM to spread new mulch on the Lubeck Elementary playground. Equipment will be on site to do the heavy lifting, but we need rakes and shovels to help get it moved to the areas of greatest need. If you know of any students looking to complete community service hours, please share with them as well. Thank you!

Lubeck is still without landline phones. Please be sure to send transportation changes (if you have any) via note tomorrow. We don’t know when this will be able to be fixed. Of course, we have access to cell phones in case of an emergency. Thank you!

The landlines at Lubeck Elementary are currently down. We have alerted maintenance and are hoping for a quick repair. If you need immediate assistance, you may send a message via Facebook Messenger or contact your child’s teacher individually via Schoology, email, or whatever the preferred method is for that class. We will try to be monitoring those Facebook private messages as much as possible and will let you know as soon as phones are operating properly. Thank you for being patient and understanding!

We are aware that there is an issue with the Route 68 northbound school zone lights. Thank you to all who continue to drive within the speed limit even when the lights are out of order. We contacted the Sheriff's department and asked them to assist in slowing traffic as we wait for lights to be back in service.

Lubeck Families, we need your help! Those who pick up K-2 children on the Lubeck Road side may begin lining up at 2:40. Lubeck Road is not wide enough for our long line of buses to safely navigate when there are also cars parked along the road. Waiting until 2:40 allows for buses to arrive at the school and get ready for dismissal. Children being picked up will not be dismissed in the car pick-up line until buses depart. Please share this with anyone who picks up K-2 students at the end of the day. Thank you for helping with this process!

Good evening. Tomorrow brings much anticipation with the start of a new school year. I am so excited to see our students and employees back in our buildings as we work together to become the # 1 school district in the state of West Virginia. We are so fortunate to have a wonderful community of parents and guardians that understand the importance of a first-class education and are willing to go above and beyond to ensure the success of our students and schools. However, we know there is a lot of work to complete. This summer, WCS has equipped schools with essential personnel for targeted intervention, created a STEAM Academy for middle school students, and continued to upgrade our facilities to provide the most conducive environments possible in our schools. We are very excited to see the new school year begin. I encourage each of you to review our re-entry guidance document located on our webpage at https://tinyurl.com/yhq2qwgb. As you know, directives can change quickly with little notice. I will do my best to communicate changes to you as directives are received. I encourage all parents and students to follow the recommendations in the guidance document including, but not limited to - wearing a mask, staying socially distanced, and practicing good, hand-washing hygiene. As always, I ask for your patience on the first day of school. There are many moving parts that we will continually perfect throughout the year. Once again, thank you for your support and encouragement as we start another exciting school year. Thank you for all you do and have a wonderful evening.

Good evening Lubeck Families, This is Mrs. Hardman, Principal at Lubeck Elementary. On behalf of the Lubeck Staff, I would like to welcome you the 2021-22 school year. It was wonderful to see so many familiar and new faces at our Open House last night and I hope that visiting campus helped to calm any nerves about returning to school. The Lubeck Learning Expedition officially kicks off tomorrow, August 19. Each member of the Lubeck Team is excited and optimistic. Last year we, along with all communities, experienced our share of challenges, but through it all, we grew closer and stronger. As we open our doors, take comfort in knowing that Lubeck Elementary is driven by our mission to Educate, Empower, and Excel. We establish, maintain, and support high expectations for not only our students, but also ourselves. Through engaging experiences, our students will develop the knowledge, skills and values necessary to become proactive and lifelong learners. Thank you for trusting us with your children and thank you for being partners in their education. Have a wonderful evening.
