PARKERSBURG, WV — Wood County Schools has published information about proposed elementary school boundary line changes involving several schools in the Parkersburg and Vienna areas.

The proposed changes affect attendance boundaries for Criss, Emerson, and Madison elementary schools, as well as Neale, current Vienna, and Greenmont elementary schools. The district has provided maps and additional information online to help families understand the proposed changes and identify areas that may be affected.

The proposals are part of ongoing planning related to school facilities and attendance areas, including the construction of the new Vienna Elementary School, new Lincoln Elementary School, and the expansion at Madison Elementary School. As these projects move forward, reviewing school boundaries is an important part of planning for student enrollment and school assignments.

School attendance boundaries help determine which elementary school students are assigned to attend based on where they live. Under the proposed changes, some residential areas may fall within different attendance boundaries than they do currently.

Parents and guardians can review the proposed maps and information for their area at the following links:

Wood County Schools recognizes the importance of school assignments to students, families, and neighborhoods. Providing information about the proposed boundaries helps families understand the plans as the district continues its work to meet the educational needs of students throughout Wood County.
