Parkersburg High School student Brenna Bond was recognized during the Wood County Board of Education meeting on August 11 after being named the recipient of the 19th Annual West Virginia Scholar Award.
The honor was presented by Justin Raber and includes a full scholarship covering tuition, room, and board at West Virginia Wesleyan College.
Bond, the daughter of Daniel and Brandy Bond, plans to pursue a career as a pediatrician. Throughout her high school career, she has maintained a grade point average above 4.0 while participating in Key Club, Diversity Student Union, Student Council, A Cappella Choir, and Chamber Choir. She also represented Parkersburg High School at the West Virginia State Science Fair in 2024.
The West Virginia Scholar Award recognizes outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement among high school students across the state. Board members and district leaders congratulated Bond on this significant accomplishment and wished her continued success in her future endeavors.
