At Wood County Schools, student safety is always our top priority. We are so grateful for the many parents and family members who give their time to support our schools, whether it’s lending a hand in the classroom, helping at events, or joining a field trip.

To ensure a safe and secure environment for all students, anyone who may be working directly with students without staff supervision, moving through the building on their own, or serving as a chaperone on a school-sponsored field trip is required to complete a criminal background check. This is the same process followed by all Wood County Schools employees and helps us maintain a safe and welcoming environment for every child.

The background check process is simple, and forms are available online for your convenience. We encourage all parents and guardians who wish to volunteer to complete this step early, so you’ll be ready to take part in these valuable experiences throughout the year.
