Thank you for the hard work and dedication you have shown as you transition into your teaching role in the Medical Assisting program at the Caperton Center for Applied Technology. Your years of nursing experience, combined with your commitment to helping students succeed, bring valuable knowledge and perspective to our team.
You have worked diligently to manage the many responsibilities of teaching, from daily classroom tasks and coordinating clinical experiences to planning for the future and everything in between. Your willingness to take on new challenges while ensuring our students have meaningful learning experiences does not go unnoticed.

Students also gained hands-on experience practicing proper injection techniques and learning how to draw up medications for injections. These important skills help prepare them for real-world experiences in the medical field.
Joe Leaman presented the You Rock Award to ChrisAnn Poling in recognition of her dedication to students, collaboration with colleagues, and commitment to supporting the Caperton Center community. As a Computer Programming and Cybersecurity and Coding, App, and Game Design teacher, Mrs. Poling goes above and beyond to promote CTE, coordinate outreach opportunities, support school initiatives, and help students build the skills and confidence they need for their futures. Her willingness to share ideas, take on leadership responsibilities, and find new ways to connect students with learning opportunities makes her an important part of the Caperton Center team!
Our students have been hard at work mastering infection control this week! They practiced proper procedures for putting on and taking off PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), using shaving cream as a simulated contaminant to test their technique.
Junior PCT Class also celebrated receiving their new uniforms for the first time this year! 🩺👕

Mrs. Shockey goes above and beyond to support Wood County CTE students and staff. She coordinates SkillsUSA fall, state, and national conferences, serves as the Student Council Advisor, and helps organize school events, fundraisers, the Christmas party, and end-of-year celebrations. She also serves on the Professional Staff Development Council.
