Construction is underway!!! Coming soon- Outdoor Classroom and Handicapped Accessible Play Areas🐝

All three of our parking lots will be undergoing painting and sealing next week. This will begin on Monday, July 15. Please do not drive, walk, park, or bike on the lots. The lots will not be dry until Thursday. You will also notice multiple contractors working on the playground area. Our outdoor classroom build is scheduled to begin as well as the addition of our handicapped accessible play areas. If you need to come to the building, you will need to park off school grounds and walk on the sidewalks to the main entrance.

In celebration of Independence Day, all Wood County Schools' offices will be closed. Offices will reopen on Friday, July 5th.

Elementary schools will be from 4 to 6 pm and middle and high schools (including WCTC/Caperton Center) from 5 to 7 pm. I have been reviewing attendance data today. Currently our attendance rate is 93.83. In order to be in the green zone, we need 95. We have 15.8 percent who are considered chronically absent. Just a reminder the goal is for students to miss less than 20 days. Hopefully sick season is over! 40 students in that 15 percent can still meet the goal if they have great attendance this 9 weeks.

This message is for students who go to the Boys and Girls Club after school. The club will be closed for the rest of the week. You should be receiving a call from them. Please call the school and let us know what you would like your child to do after school.

Buses may be delayed this morning due to high water in several areas across the county. We appreciate your patience as we work to safely pick up and deliver students this morning.

Families, The first round of out-of-district/open-enrollment letters should have come home today with your child. This round of letters only went home with students who are currently enrolled at Williamstown Elementary and applied to remain here next year. I have been notified of some errors. All students currently attending WES who applied were accepted.
