Good Afternoon Greenmont,

Entry forms are also coming home today which need to be turned in to Mrs. Berner NLT Wednesday, October 25, 2023. An informational parent meeting will be held in the library at 3:15pm on Wednesday, October 25, 2023.
Our goal is to have as many students as possible completing a project and learning about some awesome science topics!

Our Annual PTA Walk-A-Thon is tomorrow night from 4pm-6pm. The Walk-A-Thon this year is a fundraiser to replace all window blinds with working blinds that will be safer for our school.
Students have been provided sponsor sheets to use for lap or general donations. Online donations are also available given information previously provided. All family members are welcome to attend, relax in lawn chairs, pop a tent or spend time with their Greenmont family. One difference this year is we will have food trucks on the lawn where you can purchase Mexican food, Mandy Jo's Sweet Treats (cookies and pepperoni rolls), Aunt K's Kitchen, and/or KONA Ice (participating students get a free KONA Ice with five laps walked).
Thank you for supporting our PTA. We look forward to seeing as many people as possible for this awesome event!
Grizzly Parents,
Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up on Thursday, October 26, 2023 between the hours of 11:00am and 6:45pm. Conferences will be scheduled for 15 minutes in length.
Information will be coming home soon regarding setting up conference times with your child’s teacher. For those parents that have multiple students at Greenmont, our teachers will try to work with you to schedule your conferences closer together as to avoid making multiple trips to our school that day. Please remember conferences are very important whether your child is at the highest levels or if they are working their way up to their best. Our school’s goal is to have conferences with every household.
Grizzlies!
Our PTA Skating Party is tonight from 6-8 at Skate Country in Parkersburg. There is no charge for entry or skates thanks to the generosity of our PTA.
Grizzlies! Our first girls basketball home game is tomorrow night at 5:45. Admission prices are $5 adults, $4 seniors, $1 students, with five and under free. Please come out and support our Lady Grizzlies!

Monday, September 25, 2023 is individual Fall pictures for students and staff. Please be sure that your child is dressed appropriately for their pictures as this picture may be the yearbook picture. Class pictures will be taken at a later date in October. We will begin taking our pictures shortly after school begins at 8:05 am Monday morning. Please send the picture packets in with your child Monday or you may order online (information sent home today). Prek received their information via Class DoJo.
Dear Grizzlies,
Our school performed its fourth fire drill of the year today. I am very proud of our staff and students as our staff and students responded well to having exits purposely blocked, which forced alternate exits from the building. Our staff (which included four substitute teachers) truly kept its cool and provided exceptional leadership during the drill.
In addition to these fire drills, we have also practiced drills for shelter-in-place, tornado/weather, evacuation/bomb threat, lock down and lock out this year. We truly have an exceptional staff that we should all be proud of. Have a wonderful weekend!

Greenmont Grizzlies,
An autodial message went out today regarding students and staff wearing red tomorrow as it's Rivalry Day between PHS and PSHS!
The PHS caravan will visit tomorrow morning at 9:00 and our students will listen to the band as well as see the cheerleaders, Red Wings and the PHS Football Team. Go BIG Reds!
*Student Test Scores*
In spring 2023, students in Grades 3 through 8 took the General Summative Assessment and students in Grade 11 took the SAT School Day assessment.
On Tuesday, September 12, students will receive a printed copy of their individual student score report which will contain information regarding each student's performance on the tested areas. To further assist parents/guardians in understanding their child's performance on the WVGSA or the SAT School Day, the West Virginia Department of Education is providing an individual video score report for each student in addition to the printed report..
A link to your child's individual video score report will be sent to your child's K12 student email address on September 12th. Please work with your student to access the link in the email. When you click on the link, you will be taken to a site where you will need to enter your child's date of birth to access the video report. Resources are also available at that site to help your student.
If you need assistance in locating the video score report link, or if you do not know your child's K12 email address or password, you may contact your child's school, or contact Cathy Grewe at the Wood County Schools Board Office at 304-420-9663 Extension 122.

Good Afternoon Greenmont,
As you know, tomorrow is September 11, which is Patriot Day. We are asking all staff and students to wear red, white and blue in honor of those lives lost on September 11, 2001. In honor of Patriot Day, our flag will be flown at half staff for the day.
Happy Labor Day! All schools and offices will be closed on Monday, September 4th, in observance of the holiday. We will see you back on Tuesday during normal hours.
Greenmont Grizzlies!
We've had a great start to our school year thus far. As we move forward, please remember to call our school with any questions or concerns as well as message teachers as soon as you need assistance.
We appreciate your help with a few things... Please pull up as far as you can during drop-off. If your child is slow to get out of the car, please pull into the KG end parking lot. At drop-off, please don't have your child get out of the car onto 58th Street. Please be sure your child exits the car on the passenger side of the vehicle onto the sidewalk as to not get run over by another vehicle. At pick-up, please be sure to be on time as our staff's day ends around the time kids are dismissed. If you have an issue being on time to pick-up, please make arrangements to have your child picked up or to go to the after school program run by the YMCA.
If we can be of any assistance in helping you or your child, please let us know.
