Greenmont Parents, We are having our Veterans Day Celebration tomorrow morning. We are asking all students and staff to please wear patriotic colors of RED, WHITE and BLUE. Thank you for your help in having your child wear RED, WHITE and BLUE.

Good Morning Greenmont, A note is coming home today regarding our upcoming Student Council food drive. If your family can benefit from our school's food drive, please contact your child's teacher, our school's secretary or Mr. Ubbens with the number of individuals in the home so that we can place you on our list of families.

Grizzly Nation! We have a few events this week that are truly awesome! Our Girls Basketball team plays its first playoff game Tuesday at Jefferson Elementary School beginning at 4:30 pm. A reminder there IS SCHOOL on Tuesday (Election Day). Wednesday at 9:00 am is our Veterans Day Assembly and we ask all staff and students to wear RED, WHITE and BLUE to honor our great country. Friday there is NO SCHOOL in observance of Veterans Day. We hope you enjoy this awesome week!

Every year at this time we must fulfill a requirement of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) of 1986. It is our responsibility to notify in writing, parents/legal guardian, school staff and employee organizations of the availability of the Asbestos Management Plan for each facility. Grizzlies! Our First Nine Weeks Awards Assembly is Friday, November 3 beginning at 8:30am. Parents are welcome to attend once they've presented their ID and signed in our office beginning at 8:15am. Parents will be seated on our bleachers.

Greenmont Parents, There is an informational parent meeting today after school in the library beginning at 3:15 about the science fair. Mrs. Berner will present information and answer any questions. We look forward to having more students participate in the science fair than ever before!

Grizzlies! Wednesday's Red Ribbon Week activity is to WEAR RED! Thursday's Red Ribbon Week activity is PAJAMA DAY! Friday's Red Ribbon Week activity is to WEAR Greenmont Gear. Friday at 8:30 is our first nine weeks awards assembly and we have the reward activity in the afternoon within our school (no volunteers needed this time).

Greenmont Grizzlies! Tuesday’s Red Ribbon activity is TEAM UP AGAINST DRUGS so wear your favorite team’s apparel. As tomorrow will see Halloween parties in the afternoon, we urge parents to send non-perishable party items to school in the morning via the office. Tomorrow’s party foods will be strictly limited to fresh fruits and vegetables with water or juice to drink. Please do not send other food items. Parents may sign in at the front office beginning at 1:45 pm and they will get a visitor’s badge and be seated in the gym. Classes will be on the concrete area of the playground at 2:00 pm for the costume parade and Thriller Dance. Parents will be able to be outside after they’ve signed in to watch these events. Please call our school with any questions.

Good Morning Greenmont, Please be sure to have your ID available when you come to parent-teacher conferences today. All visitors will sign in at the front office prior to going to the classrooms. As conference times are scheduled tightly, please be on time so that the teachers can stay on schedule. We look forward to seeing as many parents as possible for conferences.

Reminder, there is no school for students on Thursday, Oct. 26 (Parent-Teacher Conferences) or Friday, Oct. 27 (Professional Learning Day). Classes resume as normal on Monday, Oct. 30.

Grizzly Ghouls and Gobblins! Our PTA TRUNK-OR-TREAT day has finally arrived! It's true! Today is the day of our PTA Trunk-Or-Treat!!!!! Those participating with their "trunks" may begin setting up in the KG end parking lot beginning at 4:30 pm. The start line will begin on the left side of the parking lot and come back up the right side nearest the field. PTA members will be on hand to guide you. All cars need to be set up NLT 5:15 as our event begins at 5:30pm and runs until 7:00pm. We are looking forward to seeing everyone for this fun night with our Greenmont community!

Greenmont Sporting Enthusiasts! A "gentle" reminder for parents attending sporting/school events to please behave and represent yourselves properly. Parents should not be acting in an inappropriate manner, threatening referees/administrators, complaining to coaches about playing time, entering the field of play, littering, loitering or worse yet, getting into a fist fight with other parents. Yes, this is all obvious, but there have been increasing issues around Wood County elementary events and we do not wish for our parents to have any part in this nonsense. Some other parents have been banned from activities in the past few weeks and we do not wish for our community to ever have these issues. Thank you all for acting appropriately and continuing to make our school proud. Please come out tonight for our Girls Basketball team's Fifth Grade Night at 5:45pm when we play Madison.

Greetings Greenmont, The science fair parent meeting for tomorrow has been rescheduled for next Wednesday (November 1) at 3:15pm in our school's library. Mrs. Berner is hoping for a tremendous turnout!

Grizzly Nation! Our PTA is still collecting pledges/money from the Walk-A-Thon. Monies raised will be used to replace blinds in rooms to make our building safer and more functional. Our School Book Fair is next week (Monday-Wednesday) and Mr. Mace is also going to have time on conference day for parents to shop. As always, thank you for all you do to support our school.
