Good Afternoon Grizzlies! Girls basketball try-outs (grades 3-5) will be held today and tomorrow from 3:10-5:00. We wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to try-out so if you cannot make it today, please come tomorrow. Our coach, Laura Proffitt, will post the names of those who earn a spot on the team on the front doors Thursday evening NLT 6:30 pm. Best of luck to all those that try-out!

Grizzlies! Tomorrow is the first day and we couldn’t be more excited. Doors open at 7:30 and tardy bell rings at 8:05. Morning meeting starts at 7:50. While dropping students off please pull up as far as you can towards the parking lot. You may also park in the parking lot and walk your child down the sidewalk. At 3:05 KG dismisses at the parking lot doors, first grade at center doors and second grade at far right doors. At 3:10, third grade dismisses at the parking lot doors, fourth grade at center doors and fifth grade at far right doors facing the school. The YMCA program is taking students at dismissal if you’ve properly completed their paperwork ahead of time. See you soon!

Good evening! We want to remind you about our back-to-school open house tomorrow, Monday, August 19th. Our elementary open house will be from 4 to 6 p.m. and our middle, high, WCTC and Caperton will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Students' first day back to school will be Wednesday, August 21st. We're excited to see you and kick off a fantastic year!

Welcome Back Greenmont Staff! Thursday, August 15 is our first day back as a staff. United Bank is providing breakfast in the lounge around 7:30 am. We will begin our mandatory staff meeting at 8:00 am in the cafeteria. For the meeting, please bring the manilla envelope I placed in your mailbox, your phone and a pen, but leave everything else in your classroom. Please do not bring things to work on as I need your full attention to go over the important information. WCS expects us to take a full two hours, but with your attention we can go quicker. Our entire staff will be seated in the cafeteria so meet new staff members including Patty Stansberry and her aide Stone Allman, Missy's aide Cinda Parsons, and 1:1 aides Mindi Bower, Leslie Myers and Amy McCoy. Sandi Wiseman will be R.C.'s 1:1 sub aide until that position is filled. We have a ton of important things to go over and I want to free you up as much as possible to get your things done in your rooms. See you in the morning!

Dear Grizzlies! The 2024-2025 Open House/PTA Ice Cream Social will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Students and their families are encouraged to come and meet their new teacher/aide, have some ice cream and tour the facility. Greenmont Parents, Greenmont Elementary School's exterior campus will be sprayed with herbicides on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. We are asking that all visitors not use the exterior campus on Tuesday, July 16 due to the spraying of chemicals.

In celebration of Independence Day, all Wood County Schools' offices will be closed. Offices will reopen on Friday, July 5th.

Grizzlies! As you enjoyed your first day of summer break, our staff was at school today having meetings and being trained in CPR/AED/Bleed Kit. Just like our students, we continue to grow and learn. In a time when education is changing rapidly, one of the constants has been the absolute awesome job our staff does. I can't thank our staff enough for all of the hard work, expertise, and dedication it puts forth each and every day . I know that I see the huge impact our staff makes and I sincerely hope our Greenmont community does as well. On behalf of the best staff in our great state, have a wonderful summer break!

Great Grizzlies! We had another awesome day today between our 4th Nine Weeks' awards assembly and reward activity. On Friday, May 31 we will have our final safety drills of the year at 8:40am then we have the talent show at 1:30pm. On Monday, June 3 we will have a brief ceremony by our playground as we dedicate our Student Council's "Buddy Bench" in honor of Greenmont alumni, Evan Pritchett. We are very proud of our Student Council for raising money for this special bench that will bring students together for years to come. The Cook's Choice lunch on June 3 is a calzone. The final day of school is Tuesday, June 4 and our cook's choice lunch that day is corn dogs. Class assignments, report cards, attendance certificates, honor roll certificates, 2024-25 suggested supply lists and an end of the year letter will be in the mail a week or two after the last day of school. Thank you all for a phenomenal year so far at Greenmont!

Grizzlies! Tomorrow is the final day to shop at the book fair. Tomorrow is also PAJAMA DAY once again! A reminder that there will not be school on Monday, May 27, 2024 in honor of Memorial Day!
