This is a friendly reminder that all Wood County Schools and offices will be closed on Tuesday, November 3, as our school facilities will be used as voting centers for the midterm elections.

We had a packed house at our Middle School Band Performance. They did a great job.

This is an important reminder about the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department Mobile Dental Clinic, which will be visiting Jackson Middle School on Tuesday, December 1, 2026. This program is available to students who have not seen a dentist within the past 12 months.

If you indicated interest in your child's pink Emergency Information Form, a packet containing program information and a consent form was mailed home last week. If you would like your child to participate, please complete the consent form and return it to Nurse Cassie by Friday, November 20, 2026.

If you did not receive a packet but would like more information, please contact the school nurse at 304-420-9551, send a message through Rooms, or email candrews@k12.wv.us, and a packet will be sent home.

Last night our Lady Generals took 3rd place in the Middle School Volleyball Championship. They also earned the 2026 MOV Officials Sportsmanship award. This team played hard all season long and are great role models for Jackson Middles School. Congratulations Ladies!!!!! We are very proud of you.

Just a friendly reminder that permission slips for our Ohio University basketball trip on Monday, November 9th, are due this Friday, October 23rd!

This is a FREE field trip, and lunch will be provided for all students attending!

We are excited to give our students the opportunity to experience a college basketball game, cheer on the Bobcats, and enjoy a fun day together outside the classroom! 🏀💚

Please make sure your student returns their signed permission slip by Friday!

The semi-final Middle School Football games on, October 21st, will be pushed back to 6:00pm and 8:00pm at the request of Parkersburg South. The championship game will take place Wednesday, October 28th, at Parkersburg High School beginning at 7:00pm.

- Gates will open at 5:00pm
- Warmups may begin at 5:40pm (after high school practice)

The scheduled Jackson vs Hamilton Football game for this evening has been moved to Parkersburg High School. The game will begin at 8:00pm.

Good afternoon, This is Mr. Echard with an important announcement. Recently there has been a trend going around where students are pulling the pants down of other students. They refer to this as “Pantsing”. This is happening not just at Jackson Middle School but several other schools across the country. This is not an acceptable behavior in school. I made and announcement today to our students to let them know that anyone who pulls down the pants of another student will be written up for Sexual Misconduct and will be suspended from school. Depending on the severity of the incident this could lead to legal charges and/or an expulsion from school. I encourage you to speak with your students about this as we want this behavior to stop.
