back to school open house dates
Good afternoon Jackson parents, students, and staff. This is Mr. Kisner with a few announcements concerning our upcoming week. First, we invite everyone out to open house tomorrow evening from 5pm until 7pm. Doors will open at 5pm and students need to report to their HR to get their schedules. Jackson PTA will also have an information table setup during open house and membership forms available! We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow evening. I would also like to inform everyone that the first day of school is Wednesday, August 21. Doors to the school open at 7:30 and students enter the cafeteria doors. Students can be dropped off at the community building and use the cross walk to walk up to the school or you can turn up 32nd Street and come through the side parking lot and let students out at the cafeteria. Please make sure you pull as far down as possible and students need to exit as quickly as possible so we do not hold up traffic. The bell to report to HR will be at 7:50 every morning! School starts at 8:00 am and dismissal is at 3:14 pm. All students need to be picked up either in the community parking lot or the parking area by the tennis courts. Please do not block traffic on the public streets or block the bus loading area. We thank you for your cooperation. On the first day of school, all students will spend the morning in HR going over important information and procedures. We look forward to having all our students back and starting the 2024-2025 school year! Have a great evening and Go Generals!

Good evening! This message is for all incoming 6th grade students and their parents. On August 13, we will have Tour de Jackson for incoming 6th graders from 9 am until 11 am. Students may be dropped off and will enter the building through the cafeteria. Students will sit at a table by their HR. You will be able to find your HR by the lists that will be on the cafeteria windows. If you do not see your name, please let a staff member know and we will try and get you set up before the end of the tour. During the event, students will take a tour of the building, go over what their schedules look like, work on locks, go over IPad usage and be given the Wood County Acceptable Use Policy. All students in attendance will get a QR code to give to their parents to complete for the use of an IPad, this is called the Acceptable Use Policy. To receive an IPad during the first week of school, you will need to have this completed. If you use the provided QR code it will automatically be received, and your student will have it complete. At 10:30, parents will have an opportunity to get information and ask questions if there is time. There will be an informational meeting with the administration from 10:30 – 11:00 am. The Tour de Jackson will be over at 11 am. This is a voluntary event that will help your student gain some knowledge of the building before the beginning of school. Students will have another opportunity to come to open house on August 19 as well, and the first two days of school will be dedicated to getting students adjusted to middle school. Students do not need to bring anything to the tour. Thank you and have a great evening! Go Generals!
