Sunday Night Phone Call

Sunday Night Announcement; 04/27/25

Good evening, Martin Ram families. This is Principal Tom Wheeler with a weekend update and a look at the week coming up.

All in all, this is a pretty quiet week coming up, with one really big event on Saturday, May 3rd.

Our Martin Elementary PTA School Carnival takes place this coming Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the school gym and cafeteria. It costs $5.00 to get a wristband that will allow you to play most of the games and activities. This will include all of your favorites, like 2-Liter Ring Toss, Hoop Shoot, Duck Pond, Hot Wheels Racing, Football Toss, Crack the Noodle, and many more. There will be a Cake Walk for an additional dollar. As always, concessions will be sold for an additional cost. Sno Biz will also be outside, and that will be an additional cost with some of those proceeds going back to our PTA. I would like to invite one and all to come out and join us for this great time and great cause.

To go along with the carnival, I want to ask for your help. We would like to request donations of un-opened bottles of 2 Liter pop and store bought baked treats and Little Debbie type snack cakes. From now until Saturday, this will be a competition between classrooms. Classes will get one point for every 2-Liter donated, and two points for every baked treat or box of snack cakes. The winning classrooms will get treated to a swimming party, and I’m sure that I will be arranging more than just one classroom for that.

Elementary Track continues this week with two relay meets. First up is the All Girls’ Relays tomorrow, Monday, April 28th. That is followed the next day by the Boys Relay on Tuesday, April 29th. Both meets start at 6:00 and will take place at Parkersburg High School Stadium Field. Athletes should be there and ready to go by 5:45.

Our school year is about to enter the home stretch. In the Sunday night phone call over the next two weeks I will be talking about the GSA and I-Ready Diagnostic Testing as we go hurtling towards the finish line and the end of the year.

In the meantime, that all I have for this evening. Thanks for listening, and I will see you in the morning.

And remember, Martin Rams are Always Climbing!
