📚✨ Kindergarten Readers at Work! ✨📚
Our Madison Mustangs in kindergarten enjoyed reading David Goes to School today! 🏫📖
As they read, students worked on identifying the characters and setting of the story. They practiced thinking like readers by asking: Who is in the story? Where does the story take place? 🤔💭
We love watching our young Mustangs build their reading skills while having fun with great books! 💙🐴📚

📚🐴 MADISON MUSTANGS LOVE TO READ! 🐴📚
Madison Elementary School is proud to announce our participation in the Read Aloud WV program! 🎉📖
What is Read Aloud WV?
Read Aloud WV is a statewide program dedicated to helping children develop a love of reading by surrounding them with books, positive reading role models, and adults who share the joy of reading. Volunteer readers visit classrooms and read aloud to students, helping children see that reading can be FUN, exciting, and something to enjoy for a lifetime! ❤️📚
Research shows that motivation is an important first step in developing literacy skills, and Read Aloud WV works to motivate children to WANT to read. The program also helps provide access to books and creates more reader-friendly classrooms and communities.
🌟 WE NEED READERS! 🌟
Would you love to be part of a child's reading journey? We are looking for volunteer readers who are willing to share their love of books with our students. Classroom readers typically spend about 30 minutes to an hour each week reading aloud to students and modeling the joy of reading.
📝 Interested in becoming a reader?
A sign-up form is attached to this post! Complete the online application (using QR code or by entering readaloudwv.org/volunteer)
💻 Parents—there's another great way to get involved!
We encourage you to take the Read Aloud WV online training/orientation to learn more about becoming a reader and how you can help inspire our students to become lifelong readers.
Together, we can put books in their hands, reading on their minds, and a love of learning in their hearts! ❤️📚
Let's show our Mustangs that READING ROCKS! 🐴📖

🪨💙 Madison Mustangs Know Someone Who ROCKS! 💙🪨
Today, our Madison Mustangs had the special opportunity to honor our amazing librarian, Mrs. Tucker, with a rock from Wood County Schools’ “Your Rock” initiative! 🌟
The Your Rock initiative is all about recognizing the people who make a difference in the lives of others—those special people who are there to encourage, support, inspire, and help us grow. Sometimes, a simple gesture of appreciation can mean so much! ❤️
Our admin team chose to recognize Mrs. Tucker because she is truly someone who ROCKS! 📚🪨 She creates a welcoming space where students can discover new stories, explore new ideas, and fall in love with reading. Her kindness and love for our students make our school library a special place.
On top of all this, Mrs. Tucker helps parents with using the Rooms app, makes sure all students have iPads and troubleshoots technology issues for staff.
Thank you, Mrs. Tucker, for being a rock for our Madison Mustangs! We appreciate everything you do! 🐎💙
Mrs. Tucker—you ROCK! 🪨🎉

🚀🎢 Fourth Grade is on a ROLL at Madison Elementary! 🎢🚀
Our fourth graders were putting energy and motion into action today during science! 🔬⚡
Students worked in groups using simple materials like binder clips, rubber bands, and paper to create their very own fast and fun roller coaster! 🎢 They designed a brand-new ride they proudly named the “Twist-O-Matic”! 🤩
Along the way, students discovered that when they twist the rubber band, it stores potential (stored) energy—and when they let it go…WATCH OUT! The energy turns into motion! 💨
Who knew science could be this much fun?! We’re loving these hands-on learning experiences at Madison! 💙🐎

Good evening, Madison Mustang families! 💙🐴
Tomorrow is the first day for our PreK students! 🎉 With even more students being dropped off in the morning, we ask that everyone please have a little extra patience as we get everyone safely into the building.
Families are welcome to park along nearby streets and walk their students to school if that is easier or more convenient for you. 🚶♀️🚶♂️
Also, a HUGE thank you for your continued patience with our new dismissal routine! 💙 We know it may take a few extra minutes during afternoon pick-up, but please know that the additional time is intentional and for the safety of all of our students.
We appreciate your understanding, patience, and support as we work together to make arrival and dismissal as safe and smooth as possible.
Here’s to another great day at Madison! 💙🐴

Good evening Madison families,
Thank you for your patience as we implement our new dismissal plan, which is designed with your children's safety in mind. Things will go more smoothly tomorrow.
Also, just a quick reminder that during morning drop off, parents should pull into the lot, go to the right and loop around. Please plan to let your children out of the passenger side of your vehicle along the sidewalk. Pull away from the sidewalk and into the passing lane after letting your child out. Be sure to watch for other drivers in the passing lane. This will help speed up drop off. Thanks and have a wonderful evening.
