All week both 4th grade classes learned about what happened on September 11, 2001 during Social Studies with me. They learned about the twin towers, the Pentagon, and flight 93. They watched videos, read articles, and had great discussions. We finished out the week completing comprehension questions and coloring pictures in honor of Patriot's Day. 🇺🇸

📚✨ YOUR PRESENCE MATTERS! ✨📚

Every school day is a day filled with opportunities to learn, grow, connect, and succeed! 💙🐎

At Madison Elementary, we know that every day counts and every student matters. When students are at school, they are not only learning important academic skills—they are building friendships, developing confidence, participating in hands-on activities, and becoming the best version of themselves. 🌟

Missing just a few days here and there can add up quickly and make it harder for students to keep up. That’s why we want to encourage our Madison Mustangs to SHOW UP, BE PRESENT, and BE READY TO LEARN! 🐎📖

💙 Good attendance = More learning
💙 More learning = More growth
💙 More growth = More success!

Let's work together to make attendance a priority and help our students make the most of every school day!

🤘🌟 SHE ROCKS! 🌟🤘

Madison Elementary is excited to celebrate one of our newest Mustangs, Emily Carney, who has already made a BIG impact on our school family! 💙🐴

Emily was recently selected to receive Madison’s YOU ROCK designation! 🎸⭐

So, what exactly is YOU ROCK? 🤔

At Madison, YOU ROCK is a special way we recognize staff members who go above and beyond, make a positive difference, support their coworkers, and help make Madison Elementary a better place for our students and staff. It’s our way of saying, “We see you. We appreciate you. YOU ROCK!” 🙌💙

And Emily is certainly rocking it! 🎸 From jumping right in as a new member of our team to bringing positivity, dedication, and a willingness to help wherever needed, she has quickly become a valued part of the Madison family.

👏 Congratulations, Ms. Carney! We are so glad you’re a Mustang! 🐴💙

Keep rocking, Ms. Carney! 🎸⭐

🔐 Mrs. Tucker's Tech Tip Tuesday

Creating Strong Passwords for Families

A strong password is one of the easiest ways to protect your family's information online. Encourage your child to use passwords that are long, unique, and difficult to guess. Avoid using birthdays, pet names, or common words.
✅ Use a mix of words, numbers, and symbols
✅ Use different passwords for different accounts
✅ Keep passwords private
A strong password is like a lock on your front door. Make sure yours is secure!

📚✨ Kindergarten Readers at Work! ✨📚 Our Madison Mustangs in kindergarten enjoyed reading David Goes to School today! 🏫📖 As they read, students worked on identifying the characters and setting of the story. They practiced thinking like readers by asking: Who is in the story? Where does the story take place? 🤔💭 We love watching our young Mustangs build their reading skills while having fun with great books! 💙🐴📚 #MadisonMustangs #KindergartenReaders #ReadingFun #CharacterAndSetting #MustangPride

📚🐴 MADISON MUSTANGS LOVE TO READ! 🐴📚

Madison Elementary School is proud to announce our participation in the Read Aloud WV program! 🎉📖

What is Read Aloud WV?
Read Aloud WV is a statewide program dedicated to helping children develop a love of reading by surrounding them with books, positive reading role models, and adults who share the joy of reading. Volunteer readers visit classrooms and read aloud to students, helping children see that reading can be FUN, exciting, and something to enjoy for a lifetime! ❤️📚

Research shows that motivation is an important first step in developing literacy skills, and Read Aloud WV works to motivate children to WANT to read. The program also helps provide access to books and creates more reader-friendly classrooms and communities.

🌟 WE NEED READERS! 🌟

Would you love to be part of a child's reading journey? We are looking for volunteer readers who are willing to share their love of books with our students. Classroom readers typically spend about 30 minutes to an hour each week reading aloud to students and modeling the joy of reading.

📝 Interested in becoming a reader?
A sign-up form is attached to this post! Complete the online application (using QR code or by entering readaloudwv.org/volunteer)

💻 Parents—there's another great way to get involved!
We encourage you to take the Read Aloud WV online training/orientation to learn more about becoming a reader and how you can help inspire our students to become lifelong readers.

Together, we can put books in their hands, reading on their minds, and a love of learning in their hearts! ❤️📚

Let's show our Mustangs that READING ROCKS! 🐴📖
