We're excited to share that a wonderful local Girl Scout group has generously offered to provide Halloween costumes for Madison students again this year!

Mrs. Davis’s fourth grade class has been learning all about optimism with Ms. Erin, our wonderful school counselor.
She has been working with us using the little spot of optimism to help students understand that even when things feel difficult, we can choose to look for the good, find hope, and believe that better things are ahead. We are learning that optimism doesn't mean everything is always perfect, rather it means believing that we can handle challenges and that tomorrow is a new opportunity.
Thank you, Ms. Erin, for helping Mrs. Davis’s fourth graders grow not only as students, but as positive, hopeful people!

Mrs. Davis’s fourth graders have been getting creative with Zentangle cats. Our artists designed their cats’ using patterns made only in black and white, focusing on lines, shapes, and details to make each one unique. Students then created bright, colorful backgrounds to make their black-and-white cats really stand out.

Today, our fourth graders participated in a Title I event all about science fair projects and the scientific process. Our students learned about what is expected when creating a science fair project and the steps scientists take to investigate questions and find answers.
Mrs. Hamilton walked students through an example science fair project, and our students followed along as she explained each step of the process. Parents were invited to join us, and our amazing staff members were there to help and encourage students along the way.
One of the biggest lessons our fourth graders learned today was that scientists aren't always correct, and that's okay! Sometimes an experiment doesn't turn out the way you expected. Scientists learn from their mistakes, make changes, and keep trying.
We loved watching our fourth graders learning, researching, questioning, and discovering that sometimes the best part of science is figuring out what to try next!

💛🎗️ MADISON GOES GOLD! 🎗️💛
Today, our Madison Mustang Family went GOLD in support of children and families facing pediatric cancer. Our staff members dressed in gold to show that even a small gesture can send a powerful message of hope, love, strength, and support.
💛 Our Climate & Culture Committee also collected a donation for BrAva, a local organization dedicated to supporting families of children battling cancer.
Today was about more than wearing gold—it was about showing our students what it means to care for others, stand together, and make a difference in our community.
I couldn’t be more proud of our Madison staff! 💛 Your willingness to come together and support children and families is just one more reason why Madison is such a special place to be.

Madison Elementary offered a Title I Parent Involvement Activity designed to bring students and families together for some hands-on learning!
Our students and parents learned how to complete a science fair project—from choosing a question and developing a hypothesis to conducting an experiment, recording results, and presenting their findings.
This activity was a wonderful opportunity to help our Mustang families learn more about the Wood County Science Fair and how students can participate. Wood County Schools has a long-standing tradition of celebrating student science projects, with elementary students competing in categories such as biology, chemistry, physics, earth/environmental science, engineering, and more.
❤️ Why Title I Matters
Title I provides additional resources and support to help schools provide students with opportunities to succeed academically. These resources can support learning experiences, instructional materials, family engagement, and other services that supplement the education students receive every day.
👨👩👧👦 Why Parent Involvement Matters
When families take an active role in their child’s education, children see that learning is important both at school and at home. Parent involvement helps strengthen communication between families and teachers, builds confidence, encourages curiosity, and gives children another important support system as they learn and grow.

Mrs. Tennant's Pre-K class learned about apples this week along with our senses unit of study. We made applesauce, painted apples, and did apple math problems as well as many other activities. The students had so much fun learning about apples and their senses this week.

Mrs. Reid's 2nd grade class celebrated the start of fall with STEM centers. Students constructed apple carriers with LEGO, made leaf rubbings, and tested the best ways to stack apples.
