The Teaching and Learning Academy by Wood County Schools is all set to commence this July, offering a remarkable week of professional development and featuring noteworthy keynote speakers. Greetings parents and guardians: While working through a glitch in our all-call system, Wood County Schools realized that our morning, elementary school attendance calls to parents informing of a student absence did not go out. We want you to know that this occurred and that the problem has been corrected. Absence calls will continue as normal on Monday.

PTA Read-a-thon sponsorship money is due tomorrow. It's only $5 for students to come read in the gym on Friday. If you would like to sponsor other students in the class please write it on your sheet or contact the teacher! All proceeds go to help the PTA. Prizes will be awarded on Friday!

PTA READ-A -THON on Friday students that turned in at least $5 for Read-a-thon sponsorship money will be able to bring a blanket and stuffed animal to read with them in the gym. Each student who raises $15.00 will get an ice-cream, Each student who raises $100 will participate in a pizza party, The classroom that raises the most money will receive a cookie party. The student who raises the most money will receive $100 cash (2nd and 3rd place prizes too!) All sponsor sheets and money must be turned in by Thursday, March 2nd. The Read-A-Thon will be held on Friday, March 3rd.

Monday, February 6, 2023 will be a Professional Learning Day for employees. Students will not attend classes. Classes will resume on Tuesday at normal times.

Due to worsening road conditions, Wood County Schools will now be closed today, Tuesday, January 31st. There will be no classes. 261-day employees are to report two hours later than their normal start time.

Upcoming events: Tuesday: 3rd- 5th grade 2nd Nine-week awards at 9:35am. This is also the 100th Day of school! Students can pay $1 to wear a 100 things or dress as a 100 year old. (All proceeds to the 5th grade fund) Monday, Feb. 6th No School for students

Wood County Schools would like to thank you for your support and dedication and wish you a joyous holiday season. Schools will be closed beginning Thursday, December 22nd. Schools will reopen on Tuesday, January 3rd. Wishing you good health and peace in the upcoming New Year.

Important information about movie night, tonight! The PTA is so excited to host our first movie night in a long time! Here are a few important things to remember: • Movie (“Bad Guys”) will begin at 5:30 pm • Drop off for movie night can start at 5:15 pm • Parents MUST bring children inside with a completed form and payment. • Pickup will begin at 7:15 pm and parents MUST come inside to pick up students, no later than 7:30 pm. • Event is for Madison students only • PreK students must attend with a parent • Concessions will be sold. Everything is $1. Student can wear their PJ's and bring a blanket and pillow. All school rules will apply.
