Neale picture retakes will be on Tuesday, February 16th. If your child is going to have pictures taken over, they must return the original package received and present it to the photographer for retakes. We will also take pictures of those who are Virtual, Distance or any Neale student who was not photographed in the fall. If your child is not attending in person, please you call the school office to make an appointment. The office number is 304-420-9587. Photographers will begin at 8:00am.

We are excited to have the students back in school! During dismissal, we will continue to use the student numbers to pick up your child. To help with traffic flow, please come during your assigned time. Also, pull all the way forward in the loop. We have found that pulling everyone forward and loading all the cars at the same time makes the line go faster. Dismissal times:

Good Evening. This is a reminder that students with last names L-Z will attend school in-person beginning Tuesday, January 19. We will be utilizing a very similar blended learning format as we did 1st semester. However, by our Governor’s Executive Order, High Schools will not be able to return to in-person learning until we reach the orange status on the WVDDHR daily map. Pre Kindergarten Enrollment will be February 8-12. Please refer to the attached slides and call with questions.
We will be registering students for kindergarten soon. Please begin gathering your documentation.
Pre-K Registration will be held February 8-21. The child must be 4 by June 30, 2021 to be able to enroll.
Good evening. On January 19, 2021, students will return to in-person instruction in our schools. However, I fully understand that some students and families are uncomfortable about returning to school in-person. To provide more opportunities for our students, WCS is requesting all students wishing to be instructed in an off-campus learning model, outside of our schools for the second semester, complete the form attached in this correspondence or visit the Wood County Schools website for more information. Depending on the number of students wishing to be instructed off-campus, we may have the ability to offer families and students different choices rather than just the WV Learns- Virtual School program. Once again, if you wish for your child to be instructed off-campus second semester, please complete the enrollment form. The form is due by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2021.

Today, Governor Justice announced that school districts in WV will be in remote learning until January 15, 2021. Beginning January 19, students in grades pre-k through 8th will be instructed in our schools through in-person learning regardless of the color on the WVDHHR map. If Wood County is Green, Yellow, Gold, or Orange on the daily map, High School students will attend school in-person as long as we do not reach the “Red” status.
If your child is utilizing WV Virtual School for instruction, nothing will change for the next few weeks.

Student please work really hard the next few days to get all of your assignments complete. If you have any missing assignments, they need to be turned in by December 23rd, so that we can have a fresh start when we come back in January. If you need longer than that then will need to contact your teacher to make special arrangements.
Remember to pick up your craft kits for next week’s Countdown to Christmas Activities at the back door. These will also be available tonight and tomorrow at the PTO’s Outdoor Virtual Santa Event from 5-7. If you are attending this event, please remember to social distance and to wear a mask.
Join us Thursday or Friday evening for the kickoff to Neale Elementary’s Countdown to Christmas.
Neale PTO is sponsoring a free family event. Pictures with Virtual Santa in front of the Vienna City Tree at Neale from 5-7. Families will socially distance, stay masked until it is time to take their picture in front of the tree, and will receive a digital copy of their photo.
While you are there pick up a Neale Elementary Countdown to Christmas Craft Kit to participate in the activities that Title I has planned for the following week. Unable to get your craft kit at this event? No worries pick up your kit at the back door beginning Thursday morning at 8:30. Kindergarten students will be receiving their craft kits in the packets their teachers have already prepared.
The Title I Story and Craft Activities will be posted via Facebook starting with a Grinch Reader's Theatre Production from some of your favorite Neale Teachers Monday, December 21st.
