Good afternoon, this is Linda Brunicardi, principal of Neale Elementary School. Yesterday we were made aware of a student who had given over-the-counter Tylenol to another student. After speaking with the students and parents, we believe this was accidental and that neither student understood it was a medication. It was a scary situation, but thankfully no one was harmed. This is a good opportunity to speak with your child about medications and the dangers of consuming any medicine, including ones commonly found in households to treat aches and pains, without an adult’s permission. It is also a reminder to keep all medications well out of the reach of children who may mistake such items for food or candy. We are dedicated to the health and safety of our students. Any investigation takes time, and often before a situation can be addressed people will take their concerns online where they can become amplified and distorted. We ask for parents to work with teachers, administrators and school staff to address those concerns and to recognize we are all working toward the same goal, to keep our children happy, healthy and learning. Thank you for your time, and have a wonderful day.

Greetings parents and guardians: While working through a glitch in our all-call system, Wood County Schools realized that our morning, elementary school attendance calls to parents informing of a student absence did not go out. We want you to know that this occurred and that the problem has been corrected. Absence calls will continue as normal on Monday.
