Wood County Schools: Good morning. Please click the following link to view the instructional plan for the next two (2) weeks beginning November 23. https://5il.co/n906 . This is also a reminder that November 23-November 25 are Non Traditional Instructional Days (NTID), in which teachers will have assignments pre-loaded into Schoology by 9:00 a.m. for students to complete. Also, I have made the decision to make December 3rd a "Full Remote Instructional Day". If there is a significant drop in our infection and positivity rates, our plan is to bring all Elementary students back beginning December 7th for 4 days of in-person learning. We will closely monitor many data points before a decision is made. Ultimately, if the WVDE Saturday map has Wood County as Red or Orange, we will continue Full Remote Instruction. Please stay safe and healthy. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving

Internet and phone service has been restored at Blennerhassett Middle School. We apologize the text message did not go out the first time the message was sent. Students will not be marked absent if they did not attend a TEAMS meeting. Students should continue to complete work in the classes that they did not attend a TEAMS meeting for. Again, we apologize for the technical difficulties we were having this morning with the messages not going out.

Blennerhassett Middle School students who have been attending in person 2 days a week and learning remotely 3 days a week will transition to in person learning 4 days a week November 16th. If your child will begin coming 4 days per week nothing is required for the change as WCS as a district is transitioning to this instruction method. Parents who do not want their children to attend 4 days a week and would like to have their students utilize Schoology 5 days a week remotely until January 22nd, 2021 may contact Mrs. Arthur or Mrs. Mendez to set up a meeting this week to review the COVID -19 Learning Commitment form. Please understand if parents select the remote option this learning delivery method will continue to January 22nd, 2021. Once again, if your children will be transitioning from 2 days a week in person to 4 days a week in person learning, nothing is required for this change.

Good Morning, This is Mrs. Arthur, principal at Blennerhassett Middle School. Last night the Wood County Board of Education approved Mr. Hosaflook's proposed plan for students to return to school 4 days a week starting November 16th. Parents also have a choice of doing remote learning 5 days a week through Schoology. If you would like your child to participate in remote learning only, please contact the school and speak to Mrs. Arthur or Mrs. Mendez by November 6. We are finalizing our plans for arrival, breakfast/lunch, and dismissal so we need an accurate number of students who will be attending. Students who are currently taking courses through WV Virtual School will have the option of returning to school at the end of the semester. Thank you for your help with this.

PTSA: If you haven't had a chance, please join our PTSA. This is a great way to support students and staff at BMS. The PTSA provides activities for students at our Bobcat Bashes and the Olympics, supports technology, and improvements around our school. They also provide our staff with appreciation lunches throughout the year. Fundraising is limited this year so they are also taking donations at this time.
