GSA testing begins tomorrow! Please make sure your child gets a good night sleep, eats a healthy breakfast, and brings their iPad to school fully charged this week. Students are NOT to bring blankets or pillows to school. Students can bring a book to read when they finish testing or a work packet will be given to them.

8th Grade Reminders - 1) Formal is Saturday, May 13th from 7:00pm - 10:00pm 2) 8th Grade Promotion is Wednesday, May 17th at 6:00pm. All 8th graders need to be in the gym at 5:30pm to get lined up. 3) Parkersburg South Tour will be Friday, May 19th in the morning. 4) 8th Grade Picnic will be Thursday, May 25th from 10:45 - 12:58pm on the football field. We would like donations of water, cookies, and chips. If you would like to donate, please bring items to the office and let the secretary know it is for the 8th grade picnic.

Staff Appreciation Week starts today!!! We are still collecting gift cards to give to staff on Friday. We would greatly appreciate help with this. $10 gift cards to any store or restaurant can be turned in to the office anytime this week. We appreciate our PTSA providing breakfast for staff tomorrow. Please encourage your child to write a note or tell their favorite staff member just how much they appreciate them this week.

Staff Appreciation Week is May 8th - 12th. Below is the flyer for our weekly theme. We are collecting $10 gift cards to present to all staff. We have 75 total staff members (professional and service). If you would like to donate a gift card, please send it to the office next week.

Reminders - Midterms are on Wednesday, April 26th. Students must submit all missing work for the 4th nine weeks by 3:00pm. Any work not turned in will remain a zero. Olympics Criteria - 1)You cannot have more than 5 lunch isolations between March 27 and May 24; 2) You cannot earn ISS or OSS for any infraction between March 27 and May 24; 3) You cannot have three or missing assignments in any one class. This includes wellness class due to not participating. Lost and Found - there are several hoodies, lunch boxes, and water bottles in the lost and found. If your child is missing an item, please have them check this week.

Important Events this Week 1) Penny Wars continue until Friday. Make sure to bring in those pennies to get your country points. Silver coins and dollars deduct points from other countries. Thank you for helping raise money for the Olympics. 2) iReady testing is this week! Final counts will be announced on Friday, April 21st during Advisory.

BMS School Book Fair is going on today and tomorrow. Students can visit the book fair in the library during the day.

Blennerhassett Middle School, Wood County (096-401). The online parent survey will be available from February 20 through April 7, 2023. Parents are asked to complete an online survey about school climate—the learning and teaching/working conditions—to help guide school improvement efforts. The results of this survey will be used to make changes in their child's school to ensure a supportive environment for teaching and learning. The survey may be completed from any computer with an internet connection. Parent participation in the survey is very important. If parents have questions about the survey or problems completing the survey, they should contact their child's school. To protect parent/caregiver confidentiality, at least 10 parents must take the survey for results to be summarized for your school. Tomorrow is Hat/PJ day at BMS! Students pay $1 to wear a hat or PJs for the day. All money raised will be donated to the Wood County Society.

Reminder - Fundraiser calendars are due March 31st. Any student who fills the calendar will be entered into a drawing. Calendars were sent home with students this week as well as at the beginning of the year.
