After reading Balloons Over Broadway, students worked on creating either a Float (grades 3-5) or a Balloon (K-2) for our own version of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. We had some help from amazing parent/grandparent volunteers to make their creations come to life.
Mrs. Wright's and Mr. Spader's classes helped to record the floats during their STEAM time later that week.
Here is our own version of the Thanksgiving Day Parade. We hope that you enjoy it!

In STEAM class the students have been learning about the origin of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Next week we will work to create our own version of the parade. To help us be successful with this we are inviting parent volunteers to come and help us. On Monday and Tuesday, all class will report to the gym where we will have stations set up to create our floats and balloons for our scaled down version of the parade. We will then record their float or balloon in front of the green screen so we have our own parade to share with our families.
If you are available to help us on either November 14-15th we would love to have you involved in the project. Please fill out the form below to let us know that you will be there. Thank you for helping us out with this project.
