As snow and ice continue to impact our region, the Wood County Schools Maintenance Department has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare our schools for the safe return of students and staff. Long hours, difficult conditions, and ongoing weather challenges have not slowed the dedication of this team as they focus on clearing parking lots, sidewalks, and entrances across the district.
Pictured in the truck is Nick McPherson, a member of the maintenance department, working late into the night to clear the parking lot at the Wood County Technical Center. After completing this work, Nick and his crew continued on to additional school sites, ensuring as many facilities as possible are ready and safe.
Wood County Schools extends sincere appreciation to Nick and all members of the maintenance department for their extra effort, perseverance, and commitment during these inclement weather conditions. Their hard work plays a critical role in keeping our school community safe, and we are grateful for their dedication and service.
