Open Enrollment begins at noon today (Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024). If you would like your child to attend a school outside of your current attendance zone, you must complete the online enrollment form. The link opens at noon today.

Wood County Schools' open enrollment process will change for the 2024-2025 school year. All open enrollment requests are to be made beginning on January 16 at noon on our website at woodcountyschoolswv.com/enrollment. The enrollment is also available on the WCS app. If your child currently attends a school out of district, or you would like for your child to attend a school out of district, you will need to complete an online application. Although the form is simple to complete, if you feel you may need some assistance with the application process, or you do not have access to a device or the internet, all secretaries at our schools have an iPad and can assist you beginning at noon on Tuesday, January 16. If you child attends the school that corresponds to your home address, and you wish for this to continue, there is no action needed on your part.

Good evening, This is Mr. Kisner with an important message about the mobile dental clinic coming to Jackson Middle School on February 6th and February 7th, 2024. This program is offered to students who have not seen a dentist in over 12 months. If you indicated interest on your child’s pink card, a packet with information and a consent was sent home with your child this week. Please complete the consent and return it to the school nurse by Wednesday, January 31st, 2024 if you wish for your child to participate. If you did not receive a packet but would like more information, please call the school nurse at 304-420-9551 and a packet will be sent home. Thank you and have a good evening.

Dear JMS families, friends, clubs, and staff. On behalf of your selflessness, we have been able to assist 35 of our Generals this year for Operation Christmas. In addition, Student Council is providing Christmas dinner for each family! We cannot thank you enough!   Reminders: 1. All gifts must be dropped off tomorrow, December 18th, between 4pm-6pm near the gym doors.  Please refer to your flyer sent home for more detailed information. 2. Every year at this time we must fulfill a requirement of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) of 1986. It is our responsibility to notify in writing, parents/legal guardian, school staff and employee organizations of the availability of the Asbestos Management Plan for each facility. Girls Basketball will have tryouts for 6th grade October 30th and November 1st from 5:30-7:00. Then 7/8th grade will have tryouts November 2nd and 3rd from 5:30-7:00. All individuals must have a completed WVSSAC physical turned in. If you need a physical form, you can download from WVSSAC website or pick up at the school.

Reminder, there is no school for students on Thursday, Oct. 26 (Parent-Teacher Conferences) or Friday, Oct. 27 (Professional Learning Day). Classes resume as normal on Monday, Oct. 30.
