Also, General Summative Assessment has been scheduled for May 13, 15, and 16th for Jackson Middle School. 8th graders will test on May 13. Then the whole school will test on May 15 and 16. Students will test in the morning of these days and it is important for students to be here on time. If you miss any of these tests, we will need to make them up. The MOV Health Department will be at Jackson on Monday, April 8, to provide meningococcal and TDAP vaccinations. They will ONLY be given to students who have a signed consent form from a parent. These vaccination boosters are required before students can begin 7th grade, and this is a great opportunity to get them done in advance without missing instruction time. If you are interested, please email Nurse Cassie at candrews@k12.wv.us or call her at 304-420-9551.

Donations will be collected in homeroom, and contributions exceeding $1 will be appreciated and welcomed, too! Let's make this a friendly competition with other county middle schools for a good cause! The Wood County Society supports local youth and adults with developmental differences. Good evening this is Mr. Kisner with a reminder about the General Summative Assessment in Writing that will take place tomorrow morning. There are a few things that all students can do to prepare for this day. First, make sure you get plenty of rest the evening before and try to eat something that morning. Please make sure you are on time for school. Remember the tardy bell rings at 8:00 am and students should be in homeroom and ready to start the day. Finally, please make sure your IPad is completely charged for this day! Students will be testing using their own device and they need to make sure it is fully charged. I hope you have a great evening and Go Generals!

Good evening, this is Mr. Kisner with an announcement concerning the yearly General Summative Assessment (GSA) given to students each year. This year, the GSA has been broken up into two different parts that are two separate times in the year. The Writing portion of the assessment will be given in early March. Jackson students will take the assessment on March 6 in the morning. I want to encourage everyone to make every effort to be at school on this day. Anyone that misses on this date will have to take the make-up test in May when we have the other GSA assessments. Thank you for your cooperation and have a great evening! Go Generals!

Good evening Jackson parents, students and staff. This is Mr. Kisner with a brief announcement concerning the dance tomorrow evening at Jackson from 7pm until 9pm. This is a dance for JMS students only. As a reminder, students that have not been at school for at least half the day, are not able to attend after school activities. Students are not allowed to bring in bags. You may have a small purse or clutch, but no other bags will be allowed in the building. Also, once you enter the dance, you cannot leave the building and re-enter. When a student’s ride gets to the school, they should exit the building and walk through the parking lot. Please be aware of students walking to vehicles for rides. Students will need to remain in the building until their ride is there and there should be no loitering in the lot. Student entrance to the dance is $5 and there will concessions, glow items for sale, and a photo booth that you can purchase those photos from. All money raised will be used for the Jackson PBIS program. I hope you have a great evening, and Go Generals!
