Last night our Lady Generals took 3rd place in the Middle School Volleyball Championship. They also earned the 2026 MOV Officials Sportsmanship award. This team played hard all season long and are great role models for Jackson Middles School. Congratulations Ladies!!!!! We are very proud of you.

Just a friendly reminder that permission slips for our Ohio University basketball trip on Monday, November 9th, are due this Friday, October 23rd!

This is a FREE field trip, and lunch will be provided for all students attending!

We are excited to give our students the opportunity to experience a college basketball game, cheer on the Bobcats, and enjoy a fun day together outside the classroom! 🏀💚

Please make sure your student returns their signed permission slip by Friday!

The semi-final Middle School Football games on, October 21st, will be pushed back to 6:00pm and 8:00pm at the request of Parkersburg South. The championship game will take place Wednesday, October 28th, at Parkersburg High School beginning at 7:00pm.

- Gates will open at 5:00pm
- Warmups may begin at 5:40pm (after high school practice)

Fall Sport Pictures day is Friday, Oct. 23rd.  If you want to order pictures, please use the QR Code or the ID code listed in the picture.  If you would like a physical order packet, please message Miss Arnold at larnold@k12.wv.us with your child's name and she will get an order packet to your child. 

The scheduled Jackson vs Hamilton Football game for this evening has been moved to Parkersburg High School. The game will begin at 8:00pm.

Good afternoon, This is Mr. Echard with an important announcement. Recently there has been a trend going around where students are pulling the pants down of other students. They refer to this as “Pantsing”. This is happening not just at Jackson Middle School but several other schools across the country. This is not an acceptable behavior in school. I made and announcement today to our students to let them know that anyone who pulls down the pants of another student will be written up for Sexual Misconduct and will be suspended from school. Depending on the severity of the incident this could lead to legal charges and/or an expulsion from school. I encourage you to speak with your students about this as we want this behavior to stop. Did you know that Coplin Health Systems provides school-based telehealth care at our school if your child needs medical care during the school day?  Your school nurse can coordinate an appointment and parents can join virtually. Your child will be evaluated by a medical provider and medication can be delivered to your home if needed.  If you child is too sick to stay at school, the school nurse will follow standard procedures and send them home.  We are so happy to offer this service for busy parents through our partnership with Coplin Health Systems.   For more information, contact your school nurse.  

Hello Jackson Parents and Guardians. We wanted to let you know that Jackson Middle School uses a program called PBIS Rewards. With this program, students can earn points for positive school behaviors, and they can spend these points in our PBIS store. This program also allows teachers to make behavior referrals when students have undesirable behaviors. Parents and Guardians can make parent accounts in order to stay on top of your student’s behavior. We will be sending out a sign-up link shortly if you choose to sign up. Having an accurate phone number and email address on file makes it easier to sign up. Please contact us with questions.

Hello Jackson Parents and Guardians, Please remember to only make a right turn when exiting the community building parking lot in the morning and afternoon when you drop off or pick up your child. Left turns create traffic flow problems that can deadlock traffic for several minutes in all directions. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Hello Jackson Students, Parents, guardians and staff. This is Mr. Echard principal of Jackson Middle School. Tomorrow is our first day of school and I wanted to remind everyone about drop off and pick up procedures. Students can arrive as early as 7:15am in the morning. Free breakfast is served from 7:15am-7:50am. Grab and Go breakfast will be available after this time. All students will enter through the cafeteria doors. Parents should drop their students off in the community building parking lot. Myself and Officer Black will be at the crosswalk to stop traffic for our students to cross safely. Homeroom is a graded class and begins at 7:55am. Being on time is part of their grade. All students coming into the building after 7:55am will be considered tardy and must sign in at our main entrance at the side parking lot.

The final bell rings at 3:14pm. All students will exit the building through the cafeteria or the front school entrance that faces the community building. Students will not be permitted to exit any other doors. This is for safety and supervision purposes. All bus students will stay inside of the cafeteria until their bus arrives. Parents can pick their students up in the community building parking lot. Once again, myself and Officer Black will be stopping traffic for our students to cross safely.

Hello Jackson Students, Parents, Guardians and Staff. This is Mr. Echard principal of Jackson Middle School. Tonight, August 17 is our open house for all students. Open house starts at 5pm and is over at 7pm. We would like for everyone to enter the building through our cafeteria doors. Students will be able to find out who their homeroom teacher is in the cafeteria and then they will be able to go to their homeroom to get their schedules. 6th graders who attended Tour De Jackson are encouraged to bring their schedules with them. They will be paving in front of the main entrance (Door 18) starting today. The paving will start at the back corner where the boy's locker room is and run down to the drain by the dumpster. Please do not park in this area until after the work is complete. We are hopeful that the work will be completed by Monday August 17th prior to open house.
