This message involves COVID information related to girls' basketball, bus 144, and Mrs. May's fifth grade class. Please listen and read carefully. Your child has had a positive exposure to COVID and will need to quarantine. The exposure date was August 30. You may have your child tested today or any day this week. With a negative test, they may return to school. We must have a copy of the results. You may fax, email, or DOJO the report. If we do not have a copy, they can not return. If you choose not to test, your child may return to school on Friday, September 10. Please monitor DOJO for more information from the nurse. If your child was absent, did not ride the bus, or was not at basketball try outs on August 30, they do not have to quarantine. We are reviewing bus video. If your child has had a negative COVID test September 4 through today, they may be at school tomorrow. Again, we must have a copy of results. Please email to mtornabene@k12.wv.us.

Due to the number of our positive COVID cases and number of students in quarantine, we are going to cancel our outdoor movie night. Hopefully, we will be able to re-schedule it soon.

If I have any parent who is interested in serving on our Local School Improvement Council (LSIC), please let me know by Monday, August 30. We meet one time per nine weeks. The goal of the council is to work on projects that would improve our school. Members are also required to attend the board meeting where we present information about Franklin. lcumpsto@k12.wv.us

Franklin Families, This is just a reminder that your children should not be bringing food or drinks into the classrooms for breakfast. If you stop and get them fast food, please have them eat it in the car prior to entering the building. Also, they should not be brining anything in their water bottles except water. If we discover that they are putting other things in the bottle, we will ask them to dump it out. Honestly, the best routine would be to send a clean empty bottle each day. Your child can use the bottle filling stations to get water. Lunches are different. If your child brings cold lunch, they may bring a drink of choice.

Attendance Matters!

Attendance
Thank you for all of your patience during our first couple days of school. Just a reminder, students in 3-5 are picked up behind the gym. If you have students in K-2 and 3-5, please let your children's teacher know which place you would like to pick up. We would prefer out front if at all possible. It is safer to send big kids to little kids than little kids to big kids.
