Good Evening Grizzlies! We apologize for the hour of this message, but we needed to be sure that all members of the Greenmont track team attend practice tomorrow immediately after school until 4:15 pm. Good Afternoon Greenmont Grizzlies, As you know, we are required by our state to conduct various emergency drills every year including fire drills, weather/tornado drills, lock down drills, shelter-in-place drills, and evacuation drills. With this in mind, we conducted a fire drill this afternoon. During the fire drill, we forced our teachers to divert to alternate exits as suggested by our recent training facilitator. Our staff and students did a fantastic job exiting the building in a timely manner especially given the alternate exits. We are truly fortunate to have an excellent staff that can think on its feet when necessary and have our students perform at such a high level. We will continue with our required safety drills later this week as well as fire drills each month. Again, thank you to our staff for being an extraordinary group of professionals.

Dear Grizzlies, It was great seeing our kids and staff back at school today. A reminder that there will be a PTA meeting tomorrow after school in our library beginning at 3:15. All are welcome to attend.

Good Evening Greenmont, There’s only a half hour left to get to the Vienna Qdoba to support our Student Council. Remember that 20% of all sales goes directly to our Student Council for our school’s Easter Egg Hunt. Sales end at 7:00 pm tonight!

Good Morning Greenmont! As our boys basketball team won the county championship last night, please come and celebrate with us tonight for dinner at QDOBA (Vienna location)! When you come between 5pm-7pm 20% of ALL SALES will go towards our Student Council . Monies raised are going towards our Easter Egg Hunt and other Student Council activities. Thanks for supporting our Student Council as we congratulate our boys on becoming Wood County champions for 2023!

Hello Grizzlies! Tomorrow is the day of our classroom parties. A reminder that parents may send donated party items in to the classroom at drop-off. Parties begin at 2:00 pm and parents must sign in at the main office. Foods served must have the ingredients listed and must not be home made. Thanks for your help in monitoring this. Tonight at 6:30 pm our boys basketball team plays in the championship game versus Lubeck elementary School. Please come out and support our boys in their quest for a perfect season! *Thursday's lunch is spaghetti while Friday' s lunch is homemade pepperoni rolls *SPRING BREAK IS MARCH 20-24!!!!

Good Evening Grizzly Nation! Our boys basketball team defeated Madison Elementary tonight and has earned the right to play for the Wood County Elementary School Championship. The championship game will be held at Jefferson Elementary School on Wednesday, March 15 @ 6:30 pm. Please come out and support our boys! Go Grizzlies!

Dear Greenmont Parents, As field trips are being planned, any parents that are going to be a part of their child's field trip is required to have a Wood County Schools Back Ground Check completed before they are permitted to attend a trip. Each grade level will determine if parents will be able to be a part of the trip. To obtain a background check, parents must go to: www.woodcountyschoolswv.com click OTHER click Human Resources click Parent Volunteer You must complete the entire process and pay with your credit card. When you get the background check back, you must provide our office a paper copy of the background check. Background checks are good for one calendar year. Please call our school if you have any questions 304-420-9544. **We appreciate your understanding and willingness to go through this process. Our main goal is to ensure our students and staff are in a safe environment. These forms must be on file with our school whether parents are attending a trip at a park, ride on a bus or will meet the group at the venue (depends on the trip).

Good Evening Greenmont! Our boys basketball team defeated rival Neale by the score of 35-17! Our boys play again this Monday at 5:30 pm. Congratulations team!

Grizzlies! We want to thank all of the Grizzlies who participated in last night’s WCS Music Festival as our school sang “Don’t worry, be happy” and nailed it! Special thanks to Mrs. Walsh for inspiring our kids to love music! We also wanted to remind everyone that your Friday night plans should include cheering on our Boys Basketball team tonight at 4:30 pm as we take on the Neale Eagles. Calling all Grizzly basketball fans!!!!!!! Our Greenmont Grizzly Boys Basketball team continues its quest to stay undefeated and bring home a title with its first playoff game on Tuesday, March 7 beginning at 4:30 pm. All playoff games will be played at Jefferson Elementary School. A full concession stand will be available at each playoff game. Special thanks to our Grizzly coaches Mrs. Trish Ringer and Mr. Jim McLean for all of their time and dedication to our young men. Best of luck to our team!

Greetings parents and guardians: While working through a glitch in our all-call system, Wood County Schools realized that our morning, elementary school attendance calls to parents informing of a student absence did not go out. We want you to know that this occurred and that the problem has been corrected. Absence calls will continue as normal on Monday.

Great Musicians of Grizzlyland! Please remember to purchase music festival tickets ($3 each) no later than Wednesday, March 8 as they will not be available at the event. The 2023 WCS Music Festival is being held at 7:00 pm at the PHS Field House on Thursday, March 9. All are more than welcome to attend. Special thanks to our phenomenal music teacher, Amy Walsh!
