Grizzlies, There was an error in yesterday’s message- The final class parties of the year are on Thursday, March 16 and not Friday, March 17. By having all parties on a Thursday our preK parents that have multiple children only have to take off once that week.

Grizzlies! Our Student Council Coin Wars were a tremendous success. All monies raised from the $4,000+ will go towards the purchase and installation of a new sound system for our gymnasium. We want to thank our Student Council members as well as all of our families for supporting this event. A special thank you to our Student Council sponsors, Mrs. Shuman and Mrs. Humphrey, as they dedicated many hours to planning and carrying out this project. Have a wonderful weekend! See you all on TUESDAY (NO SCHOOL MONDAY).

Good Morning Greenmont, Today is the final day for our coin wars. Which grade level will reign supreme as we have one final push to raise money for a new sound system in our gym? Our student council appreciates all of your support as we try to improve our school.

Dear Greenmont, The Student Council COIN WAR is still going strong and we are kicking it up to notches unknown! Starting tomorrow, students may bring in checks (made out to Greenmont PTA) that will go towards their grade level totals. Checks won’t be for sabotage purposes. Again, the new sound system is going to cost several thousand dollars so we need every last cent! Todays totals are as follows: $64.86 2nd grade $66.82 5th grade $66.92 3rd grade $69.31 1st grade $70.42 prek/Kg $127. 87 4th grade

Dear Grizzlies! As Valentine’s Day is tomorrow, this is a reminder that candy is not permitted to be given to students in their Valentine’s. Since our school struggled recently to keep those students with food allergies safe, the decision had to be made to not have parties or food on Valentine’s Day. How tomorrow goes will determine the future of Valentine’s activities moving forward. The absolute last thing our school community needs is to put someone’s life at risk by sending in items that have been requested not to be sent in. I truly appreciate your understanding and willingness to keep all of our students safe.

Grizzly Nation! This is the Greatest Super Bowl advertisement of all time! This week our Student Council has its penny wars competition pitting one grade against the others until only one grade level is left standing supreme! Change and coins of all kinds are used to add to your grade level’s total while bills are used to sabotage other grade levels! All proceeds are being used to replace the sound system in our gym so that our student performances will be more enjoyable for our students and families. Thank you for your awesome support! Enjoy the game!

Greetings Greenmont, We have an awards assembly this morning beginning at 8:30 am in our gym. Parents are welcome to attend but must sign in at the front office. Parents may sit on the bleachers. This afternoon we will have a reward activity for the second nine weeks. Students will have a chance to choose a few different things which may include technology, games or physical activity. Students will be permitted to use their own cell phone or game unit but they are responsible for it. Our school has had a very good year thus far and I can’t thank our staff, students and parents enough for all everyone does.

Dear Grizzlies! We have a special performer coming tomorrow to teach our students about Appalachian music. Michael "Moon" Mullen will perform for each grade level during their "specials" time. The performances are being paid for through the ArtsBridge grant/monies. In order to accommodate our students better, we are flip-flopping Tuesday's and Wednesday's schedules. Please contact your child's teacher or our school with any questions. There will not be archery practice this Tuesday after school. A reminder that we will have a Boys Basketball home game Wednesday at 5:45 versus Williamstown Elementary. Wood County Rec. has set the gate prices at $5 for adults (no discounts for anyone) and $4 for students. Our school does not get a penny from the gate prices and we do not set the prices- sorry.

Good Morning Greenmont, This is a reminder that we will have class pictures tomorrow morning (Monday). Please be sure to have your child dress up for the class picture. We asked to redo these class pictures as we weren’t completely satisfied with the first pictures. If you have previously paid you don’t have to do anything. Please call our school first thing Monday morning if you have any questions. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
