ATTENDANCE MATTERS! There are many reasons why your child's attendance at school is so important. Here are a few of the most important ones: Academic achievement: Students who attend school regularly are more likely to achieve academically. This is because they are able to learn the material that is being taught and they are able to get help from their teachers when they need it. Social-emotional development: School is a great place for students to develop their social-emotional skills. They learn how to interact with other students and adults, they learn how to resolve conflicts, and they learn how to cope with stress. Future success: Students who attend school regularly are more likely to be successful in the future. They are more likely to get a good job, they are more likely to go to college, and they are more likely to live a healthy and happy life. Here are some tips for helping your child attend school regularly: Talk to your child about the importance of attendance. Explain to them that attending school is important for their academic achievement, social-emotional development, and future success. Set a good example. Make sure that you attend work or school regularly yourself. This will show your child that you value education and that you think it is important to be there. Make sure that your child is getting enough sleep. Students who are well-rested are more likely to be alert and attentive in class. Help your child with their homework. This will help them to understand the material that is being taught and it will help them to stay on top of their work. Talk to your child's teacher if they are having trouble attending school. The teacher may be able to offer some suggestions or help you to find resources that can help your child. Attendance is important for all students, but it is especially important for students who are struggling academically or who are at risk for dropping out of school. By helping your child attend school regularly, you can give them the best possible chance for success.
