Good afternoon Franklin Elementary Staff and Families,

Our Christmas Program has been re-scheduled to Thursday, December 18th at 9:30. Grade levels will sing songs they have been practicing with their music teacher, Ms. Ticer. We will look to have as much parking available as possible in the main lot for parents and guardians. Please be respectful as to not park in a manner that blocks an individual from leaving. Attendance matters, and it is advised that students are not signed out early after the program unless necessary. Thank you! --Ryan.

The flyer sent home listed the PTO meeting start time as 5:30 PM, but did not include the Winter Wonderland Walkthrough, which begins at 5:00 PM. Students are excited to share their window decorations with their families, and we hope to see you there! Please enter through the main doors for this event.

Good evening Falcon families! This is a reminder that starting tomorrow, we will have a Santa Shop until Friday for students who bring money to purchase gifts; they will also have time next week in their classes to make cards to along with the gifts if they'd like. Also, you or your child may begin regularly seeing an officer at school. This is a collaboration between WCS and the Parkersburg Police Department to have and SRO presence at schools that did not previously have one. The purpose is to ensure safety and to be a positive role model for our students!

Franklin Parents and Guardians,

Fliers will be coming home soon with information about our Santa Shop, which will be open December 3–5. To help our staff and volunteers support each student, please make sure your child has a shopping list of who they are shopping for.

We also ask that you send their money and list in a sealed envelope or ziplock bag clearly labeled with their name. This helps prevent items from getting misplaced on the way to class and ensures a smooth shopping experience for everyone.

Thank you for your support in making this event special for our students! 🎁

One final post regarding our Veterans Day Assembly—thank you to Artsbridge for providing us with the 11th Hour sign that helped make our program even more meaningful. We appreciate your support in helping our students honor and remember our nation’s heroes. ❤️🤍💙

🇺🇸 Veterans Day Assembly 🇺🇸
Our students came together to honor and celebrate our nation’s heroes during today’s Veterans Day Awards Assembly. The entire school proudly sang “You’re a Grand Old Flag,” and each grade level performed a song representing a branch of the U.S. Armed Forces:

🎖️ 5th Grade – The Marines’ Hymn
✈️ 4th Grade – The U.S. Air Force
🚛 3rd Grade – The Army Goes Rolling Along
⚓️ 2nd Grade – Anchors Aweigh
🛟 1st Grade – Semper Paratus

In preparation for the assembly, students wrote essays about what the flag means to them, created flags and patriotic art, and brought in tributes to honor family members who have served. ❤️ They also colored poppies, soldiers, and other symbols of gratitude to help show their support and respect for our veterans.

We are so proud of our Falcons for showing such heartfelt appreciation for those who have served our country. 💙❤️🤍
