Due to secondary road conditions, expected refreezing of roadway surfaces, and overnight temperatures, Wood County Schools will remain closed on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Please note: The 2nd nine-weeks ending date will move to Friday, January 24, 2025.

Reminder for Pre-K: Wood County Schools Pre-kindergarten (pre-k) registration for the 2025-2026 school year will commence on February 3, 2025. Children must be four years old by June 30, 2025 (or qualify for special education IEP services). The district offers free pre-kindergarten classes to eligible children, providing early childhood education to prepare them for future academic success. We are aware that some misinformation is circulating regarding today's dismissal times for Wood County Schools. Please note that all schools will dismiss today, Wednesday, January 15th, at their normal dismissal times. Thank you for your attention and understanding.

Wood County Schools will be on a two-hour delay on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

Wood County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Tuesday, January 14th, due to refreezing roadway conditions and low temperatures.

Correction: The January 13 edition of the *Parkersburg News & Sentinel* incorrectly stated that Wood County Schools would be adding an additional 30 minutes to the school day in relation to "equivalency time" for days missed due to inclement weather. In fact, Wood County Schools already incorporates 30 extra minutes into its regular school day, which can be used to account for missed instructional time. To be clear, Wood County Schools will not be adding 30 minutes to the end of any school day.

Wood County Schools will be closed on Friday, January 10th due to secondary road conditions and single digit morning temperatures.

Due to the additional snow expected for Friday and Saturday, DERC doesn't know if they will be able to have their roads cleared. I am making the decision to PUSH the party to Friday, February 7th 6-10pm. This is the first Friday/Saturday they have available. If you have already paid and can't make this new date, let me know and I will get your money back to you.

Just a reminder you are invited to the PTO Winter Wonderland Trees Display this evening. Stop by between 5:30-6:00 to see the trees and grab cookies and hot cocoa. Stick around for the PTO Meeting at 6:00, to find out what activities the PTO has planned for the New Year.
Also, PreK and Choir Student Families are invited for their Christmas Program at 9:00AM Thursday.

Join us for the Winter Wonderland Tree Walk Through before the PTO Meeting. Does open at 5:30. Hot Cocoa and Cookies will be provided before the PTO Meeting starts at 6:00
Wednesday- Grinch Day
Thursday- North Pole Day
Choir and PreK Families can join us for their music performance 9-10.
Friday- Winter Break begins for students
We are continuing to collect for Old Man Rivers Food Pantry and Humane Society until December 18. Items can be dropped off in the office.


Tomorrow students will be watching a movie and having popcorn for our SOAR event. 3-5 will be watching Wild Robot and K-2 will be watching Despicable Me 4. Both movies are rated PG. If you do not want your child watching the movie, please send a note to their teacher. Students are allowed to bring a blanket only and wear pjs if they would like. Pillows or stuffed anumals are NOT allowed.
