Every year at this time we must fulfill a requirement of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) of 1986. It is our responsibility to notify in writing, parents/legal guardian, school staff and employee organizations of the availability of the Asbestos Management Plan for each facility. Please find the notification information for your facility on Wood County Schools' web page.

Tomorrow will be our Halloween Parade and Pie the Eye. Visitors may begin arriving at 1:30 and report straight to the track. Children may wear costumes to school for Red Ribbon Week. Costumes must be school friendly—NO blood, gore, or scary costumes. Masks will only be permitted to be worn during the parade. Accessories that include a knife, gun, or other weapon are not permitted at school. Please be aware of children in the background when posting photos on social media. Students will return to their classroom to gather their backpacks. Teachers will bring their class out and line up in the grass, to be signed out. *Student Test Scores* In spring 2023, students in Grades 3 through 8 took the General Summative Assessment and students in Grade 11 took the SAT School Day assessment. On Tuesday, September 12, students will receive a printed copy of their individual student score report which will contain information regarding each student's performance on the tested areas. To further assist parents/guardians in understanding their child's performance on the WVGSA or the SAT School Day, the West Virginia Department of Education is providing an individual video score report for each student in addition to the printed report.. A link to your child's individual video score report will be sent to your child's K12 student email address on September 12th. Please work with your student to access the link in the email. When you click on the link, you will be taken to a site where you will need to enter your child's date of birth to access the video report. Resources are also available at that site to help your student. If you need assistance in locating the video score report link, or if you do not know your child's K12 email address or password, you may contact your child's school, or contact Cathy Grewe at the Wood County Schools Board Office at 304-420-9663 Extension 122.

Good evening families, It was a wonderful first day! We wanted to thank everyone for being patient during dismissal. It will get faster each day. Please remember to not line up before 2:55 to allow for our four buses to get through the gate first. We will start parent pickup dismissal immediately after the buses pull out. Please remember it is Wood County Schools policy that students in grades K-3 MUST have an adult at the bus stop in order to be allowed off the bus. Everyone have a wonderful evening! We are looking forward to day 2!
