IMPORTANT UPDATE: The Wood County Board of Education will meet in special session Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, to conduct candidate interviews and appoint an interim board member to a vacant seat. The board has consulted with the Wood County Prosecutor’s Office and the Wood County Clerk’s Office and has been advised, due to election cycle deadlines, a selection must be made by February 12, 2024. The online application period for those interested in applying for the interim position will close at 5 p.m. on Monday, February 12. The board meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. to announce the candidates and interviews will begin at 6:00 p.m. An appointment announcement will follow the completion of the interviews on February 12. Those submitting an application by Sunday, February 11, will be informed of their interview time before 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 12. Applicants submitting applications on Monday, February 12, will be contacted as applications are received throughout the day to have interviews arranged for that evening.

Franklin Families, Wood County Schools has received a grant for Spring Break Food Boxes. There are a limited number of boxes. Wood County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday, January 22, 2024.

Wood County Schools will be closed on Friday, January 19, 2024 due to inclement weather.

Open enrollment starts today. Complete the form at woodcountyschoolswv.com/enrollment. Need some assistance or do not have access to the form? Visit your school office. The central office, at 1210 13th St. in Parkersburg, is another option for assistance with completing the form.

Open Enrollment begins at noon today (Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024). If you would like your child to attend a school outside of your current attendance zone, you must complete the online enrollment form. The link opens at noon today.

Good evening families, Tomorrow is the last day to sign up for the Title I Parent Event February 15 6-7:30 pm. This is going to be a fun event for students and a light dinner will be provided. If you have lost your paper and would still like to come, please send your child's teacher a DoJo message or written note. Also, please remember that we ask that parents to not begin parking for dismissal until at least 2:45 to allow buses access to students. We WILL NOT dismiss car riders until the buses are dismissed. Buses pull out in the back at 3:02. The last car rider is usually dismissed by 3:12. Walkers (students picked up at the side door) are not dismissed until 2:45. Have a wonderful evening!

We kick off Holiday Spirit Week tomorrow! Monday- Grinch Day 💚 Wear Green or Dress like a Grinch Character Tuesday-North Pole Day Wear Red and Green or Dress like Santa, Elves, or Reindeer Wednesday- PJ Day Come comfy for our final day before break.

For the event, you can enter through the main doors or the doors at the bottom of the long outdoor staircase.

Join our PTO sponsored Winter Wonderland tomorrow evening from 5-6. Enjoy Hot Cocoa, Cookies, view our class sponsored trees, and recieve a free book from 5:00-5:30. PTO meeting will begin at 5:30. There will be a short seasonable movie in the library for the students of parents who are staying for the PTO meeting.

Franklin spirit wear orders should have come home today with students. If you have a problem with your order or something is missing please contact the school.

Choir members don't forget to wear your choir shirts to school tomorrow for the school performance. The evening family performance will take place at 6:00. Choir members need to report to school by 5:45. Doors will open at 5:40.

Don't forget PTO meeting tonight at 5:30. Enter through the cafeteria doors near the dumpster.

Dear families, I hope everyone has had a great fall break. I wanted to remind everyone we still have a Top Secret November Event left that your students aren't going to want to miss. Friday, December 1st is our next S.O.A.R Event Day. Students must have earned their 12 tickets to attend. One way students earn a ticket is by being at school on time every day for the week. Good evening families, Just a reminder that spirit wear orders are due tomorrow, November 15th. Also, picture retakes will take place on Thursday, November 16th. If you were not happy with your students photos, send the package back for retakes. Anyone who was absent or didn't have their photo taken earlier in the year will also have pictures at this time. Fall Break is November 20-24.
