Please contact Mr. Echard if you are interested in wrestling (Even if you have already done so). Vandy will not have a team but you can wrestle for Hamilton or Jackson. Academic eligibility rules have temporarily been waived. You can tryout and practice but you must have a passing GPA by March 1st.

Van Devender Middle School will be unable to field a wrestling team this school year due to the last minute resignation of our coach and limited interest in the wrestling program. WVSSAC rules will allow interested/academically eligible students to participate in wrestling at a different school but the school must be a feeder school to Parkersburg High School (Hamilton Middle School or Jackson Middle School). Interested players need to contact Mr. Echard to determine if they are academically eligible to play as soon as possible.

The mobile dental clinic will be held February 23rd and 24th. These services are offered for any student who has not seen a dental care provider in the past 12 months. If your child is currently remote or distance learning, they are still eligible for the clinic. You would have to provide your own transportation to this clinic. Club Vandy will start on February 1, 2021. Packets are located around the school and in the office. Please have all paperwork filled out prior to the first day! If you plan to ride the bus to the Boys and Girls Club after Club Vandy, paperwork must be filled out or you will not be permitted to do so. Packets can be turned into the Office when they are completed.

This is a reminder about our electronic device policy. Personal Cell phones, Smart Watches and other electronic devices will not be allowed during the school day (This includes lunch). Progressive discipline is as follows: First Offense: Student will be asked to place the electronic device in their locker. Second Offense: The electronic device will be sent to the office until the end of the day. Student can pick the item up from the office at the end of the day. Third Offense: The electronic device will go to the office and will remain in the office until a guardian comes to the school to pick it up. Please contact the school with questions.
