Students entering the 7th and 12th grade for the 2026/2027 school year are required, by law, to have their Tdap and/or Meningitis vaccines prior to school starting. The Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department will be on site the week of March 30th to provide these vaccines for students.
A consent form is required to participate in this vaccine clinic. Only students who have completed consent forms returned to school will be receiving vaccines.

Congratulations to the WMHS MathCounts team (Andre Carr, Rui He, Rylee Sweat, Lucie Clark), for earning third place in the Chapter MathCounts competition today at the University of Charleston! As an individual competitor, Lucie Clark qualified to move on to the state competition by coming in second place overall. Great job, Yellowjacket mathletes!

Attention Students...
Wood County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday, February 9, 2026, due to single-digit morning temperatures and challenging conditions on some secondary roads.
Wood County Schools will be closed today, Friday, February 6, 2026, due to expected snowfall and already icy roadway conditions. The safety of our students, families, and staff is our highest priority, and this decision was made after careful consideration of travel conditions across the district. Thank you for your understanding as we work to keep everyone safe.
Parents and guardians, weather forecasts have changed quickly this evening, and we are closely monitoring conditions overnight due to the potential for snow and hazardous travel. We understand that these situations can be challenging for families, and we appreciate your patience. We will provide an update by 6:00 a.m. Please continue to watch for additional communication.

Parents and Students: Some of our side streets are still snowy and there are several parking spaces in our back parking lot that are piled with snow. Students should allow plenty of time to arrive at school and find alternative parking if necessary.
Due to continued ice and snow on roadways - particularly in the southern part of Wood County - Wood County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay today, Wednesday, February 4, 2026. We appreciate families' attention to student safety, especially for those walking to school, as many sidewalks remain snow- and ice-covered.
Parents and Students: Provided the weather cooperates, sophomores will be touring both the Wood County Technical and Caperton centers this Thursday, February 5. Students will leave WMHS by bus in the morning, and return in the afternoon. Lunch will be provided at PSHS. Students can also choose to bring their own lunch.

Parents & Students: Have you heard the news that there is another school trip planned to Europe? Did you know that students don't have to be in French class to participate, and parents can also go? Come to the WMHS French Club informational meeting for the 2027 Europe Trip and learn all about it. The meeting takes place on Sunday, February 8,2026 at 3:00 in room 141 (enter in front of the school at door 6). Here's a hint... England, Ireland, Wales, France and a million details in between!
Wood County Schools will operate on a Code NTID on Monday, February 2, 2026. Parents are encouraged to visit the district website for information about NTID days at woodcountyschoolswv.com/ntid. All extra-curriculars, including athletic practices and games, will resume tomorrow.
