Some of our seniors and juniors spent their day at the health care career showcase sponsored by Vandalia Health in Morgantown, WV. Students were presented with the many job opportunities within the healthcare field, including those behind-the-scenes roles. Our students were able to learn about the various careers and their importance. Students were able to visit booths where they could participate in fun and educational activities which help develop an interest in healthcare. There were also some colleges, universities, and career technical centers on site to provide students with information on their programs as well as scholarship opportunities.

Unity Day, started by PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center in October 2011, is the signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month. This is a day when we can come together to send a visible message of building commUNITY through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. The call to action is simple: wear and share the color orange. This vibrant statement becomes a conversation starter, showing support for students who have been bullied and for bullying prevention. Students can see their advisory teacher or either counselor for an order form for shirts if they wish to order one. Thank you.

Parents and Students: We are no longer allowing microwave popcorn during middle school lunch. It is creating large messes every day and monopolizing the microwaves so that other students are not able to heat up their lunch.

Attention Parents: AI glasses are not permitted to be worn at school. Please make sure your student is aware. These are considered a personal electronic device and will be confiscated.

On Friday, September 19, 2025 Teachers participated in the CFWV campaign #WhyApply. Teachers dressed in their college attire to advocate the importance of applying to college. Teachers were asked if they had any advice for our current seniors. We hope this will spark conversations with your seniors on applying to trade schools or colleges, applying for scholarships and visiting college campuses. Please reach out to the counseling department if you or your child have any questions about the application process. @CFWV
