Tickets for tomorrow night's Girls Regional Basketball Championship vs. Wheeling Central MUST be purchased ONLINE. There will be NO PAPER TICKETS. You can pre-purchase here: https://gofan.co/app/events/926571?schoolId=WVSSAC. The GOFAN App allows users to quickly and easily redeem tickets at the door. If you do not wish to pre-purchase, you can bring a credit/debit card with you and purchase at the gate. Cash will not be accepted as payment. Only WVSSAC passes will be accepted at the door. Game time is 7:00 and doors will open at 6:00. PLEASE come out and cheer these ladies to victory!

Tomorrow no one will be allowed to park at the weight room parking lot in the morning, as materials will be brought in to start the process of tearing down the bleachers.

On Wednesday, Feb. 15, the time for the 8th grade parent meeting has been changed to 5:00 PM. This is to discuss high school credits and options for next year. If you are unable to attend, we will be sending home information with your child.

Exciting news:
The mobile dental clinic coming to WMHS March 7th & 9th . This program is offered to students who have no dentist or have not been seen by a dentist in over 12 months.
If you indicated interest on your child’s pink health card, a packet with information and a consent form was sent home today. Please fill out & return the consent form by Wednesday March 1st, if you wish for your child to participate.
If you did not receive a packet but would like more information, please call Nurse Dawn, 304-375-6151 ext 213 or send a note and we will send a packet home to you.

A couple of items to share out:
- Reminder, tomorrow the 9th graders will be touring the Caperton and Wood County Technical Centers, this will give them great skill and career options to learn about what is offered.
- Next Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 6:00 PM in the cafeteria will be a meeting for 8th grade parents and students. We will be discussing graduation requirements and scheduling options for the 2023-2024 school year.

This Thursday in the auditorium there will be a meeting to help learn more about the Early College program. If you are unable to attend for any reason, please email Michelle Nabors at mnabers@wvup.edu.


February 6 - 10 is National School Counseling Week! Wood County Schools recognizes the importance of school counseling programs and values and appreciates all of our excellent and committed school counselors.

We will be postponing the school elective fair and the 8th grade parent meeting until the week of Feb. 13. We will put out more specific dates and times when we have them.

Monday, February 6, 2023 will be a Professional Learning Day for employees. Students will not attend classes. Classes will resume on Tuesday at normal times.

Just a reminder the Academic Boosters will be celebrating students with academic success in grades 9-12. Parents will be allowed to enter the school in the middle school office area beginning at 1:45 PM.

Tonight's girls basketball game at home against Ritchie County will now be VARSITY ONLY. Doors will open at 6:00 and tipoff will be at 7:00.

Just a reminder we will be having the i-Ready celebrations in the auditorium on Thursday, Feb. 1st for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students. Parents will be allowed to enter the school in the middle school office area beginning at 2:00 PM.

Just a reminder the bus for the junior CTE tours will leave tomorrow at 8:10 AM. Please make sure your child is here by 8:00 so we can get them accounted for and loaded up. Thank you.

Tonight's varsity boys basketball game at St Marys has been moved to Monday, February 13. Tonight's middle school boys games at home have been postponed as well. Make-up date is TBD.

Due to worsening road conditions, Wood County Schools will now be closed today, Tuesday, January 31st. There will be no classes. 261-day employees are to report two hours later than their normal start time.
