Announcement:
We still have multiple students who have not turned in their i-pads and chargers. Please note that if these are not turned in, you will be billed over $400 as a replacement. So please be sure to get those turned into the school A.S.A.P.
Thank you!

With the 2020-21 school year wrapping up, I would just like to say “Thank You!”
Thank you to everyone: Students, parents, teachers, staff and community members. Thank you to everyone who has helped others get through this often challenging and frustrating year, and thank you to everyone for your patience and resilience.
Even as we head into summer break, Wood County Schools is hard at work finalizing preparations for our summer programs which are set to begin later this month. These eight programs are unlike anything we have offered before and are sure to be engaging and fun for students at all grade levels. More than 1,500 students are enrolled and more than 200 teachers and staff have been hired to help make these programs a success. Wood County Schools’ summer offerings have been called a model for the state, and we intend to show everyone why we deserve to be called the best school system in West Virginia.
I want everyone to have a wonderful summer and a well-earned break. Most importantly, though, I want everyone ready for this fall. Throughout all of our challenges, we have learned and we have grown, and it is time for us to put that hard-earned knowledge to work for our students. We want to provide all of our kids with the best possible opportunities in first-class facilities staffed by top-level teachers and caring adults.
So as we say goodbye to the 2020-21 school year, let us look forward to the wonderful things we can accomplish together in the months and years ahead.
Thank you everyone, and have a great summer!

Attention Parents/Guardians:
We have had a few questions about families that may be going out of town next week, and procedures to follow.
1. The student will need to pick up an Educational Trip Request Form in the office, and follow the directions on getting with teachers to fill the form out.
2. Students will need to discuss or message their teachers in regards to what work they are responsible for completing before the end of the school year.
3. All i-pads and textbooks MUST be turned in before leaving. The students can get on Schoology from any computer to complete the assignments.
4. The form has a writing component that students must complete for the absences to be counted as excused. This can be turned into the office even after June 07 to the main office.

Graduation Announcement:
As you know, graduation this year is at 11:00 AM at the high school field. Please be prepared for rain, as we will do everything possible to hold the event outdoors, so everyone is able to attend. If absolutely necessary to hold the ceremony inside, the seniors will be given 4 tickets to distribute to their families. We know this is a great celebration for the entire family, so we will do everything possible to keep it outdoors.
Also CAS cable will be streaming the ceremony live: https://www.woodcountyschoolswv.com/o/wcs/page/williamstown-high-school-graduation
For those that have CAS Cable as their provider, they can also watch graduation on Channel 45

Congratulations to the following students!!

Senior Parade: The senior parade will be tomorrow (Mon. May 24) beginning at approximately 2:10 pm.
The seniors will leave City Park onto Highland Ave., turn west onto 8th Street to Henderson Ave. From Henderson Ave., they will turn onto West 5th Street and go past the front of the high school.

Recently we have had a rash of parents bringing lunches/fast food to school. Per our handbook and school policy, this is not allowed. If you need to bring a child a special meal please get it the night before and send it with them in the morning. We will not be allowing delivery of food during the school day. Quite simply this overwhelms our secretarial staff who have many other responsibilities during these times, especially with testing and end of year responsibilities. Additionally, students should not be signed out for lunch and then back in. This requires a parent note or for the student to be marked unexcused, since we are a closed campus under county policy. Thanks for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.
Thank you,
Mr. Mennillo
