
Based upon our internet access survey this past September, Wood County Schools has secured Wi-Fi hotspots for those who have a need and have no or unreliable internet. If you have a child who attends any Wood County Schools’ high school or middle school, you may pick up a Wi-Fi hotspot at our Management Information Systems building located adjacent to Parkersburg South High School. The address is 1600 Beverly Street. A map can be found on the Wood County Schools’ website. Pickup dates are tomorrow, Friday and Monday from eight to four. It is not necessary to call ahead. Hotspots for elementary students, who have a need and have no or unreliable internet, will be available soon. Information will be forthcoming.

Due to inclement weather, the county social studies fair has been rescheduled to Saturday, February 19.


Congratulations to Olivia Raber! First place in Physics/Astronomy at the WCS County Science Fair. She will now participate in the Regional Fair in February.


The PSHS Band held their annual Holiday Concert on Thursday. Thanks to all of the students and director, Chris Shew.





PSHS Cheerleaders and Southern Belles performed at the Annual Lighting of the Lights event. .



Join us for the annual “Lighting of the Lights” event on Monday, December 6, at 6 pm, in the auditorium. The PSHS Band, Choir, Belles, and Cheerleaders will perform, along the Edison and Blennerhassett Choirs.

The online parent survey will be available from October 11 through November 19, 2021.
You may complete the survey from any computer with an internet connection.
You are asked to complete an online survey about school climate—the learning and teaching/working conditions—to help guide school improvement efforts. We value your feedback. The results of this survey will be used to make changes in your child's school to ensure a supportive environment for teaching and learning.
Parent participation in the survey is very important. If you have questions about the survey or have problems completing the survey, please contact your child's school.

PSHS Student Council is sponsoring Trunk or Treat on Sunday, October 31, in the PSHS back parking lot. Thanks to the PSHS JROTC for directing traffic and assisting with organization. There are several organizations, including the National Honor Society and Senior Class, providing treats.


The Annual Halloween Costume Contest was held along with the Academic Awards Assembly. Thanks to all of the participants and congratulations to all of the honorees!

Sophomore Class Meeting today featured a timeline of significant events and a commitment to graduate. Class of 2024!


Tomorrow, the PSHS Sophomores will have information shared with them from a Jostens representative regarding class rings, pendants, and other jewelry items. Any junior or senior that didn’t order previously, and would now like to, can obtain an order form from the guidance office tomorrow afternoon.

The FAFSA is required for anyone planning to attend college, whether you’re seeking financial aid or not. Parkersburg South High School will be hosting a financial aid workshop on October 28 at 6 pm in the library. There will be an opportunity to stay and complete the FAFSA, with assistance after the presentation. Please bring your 2020 Tax Information and W2s, as well as any other officially related documents to taxes.


PSAT - NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFYING TEST (NMSQT)
You must sign up in the Counseling Center to take this test. You cannot be considered for the National Merit Scholarship unless you take this test in your Junior year. It's also great (and cheap) practice for the SAT.
Cost: $18
Test is at 8am, in the Library on Oct. 13th.

Professional Development Day Monday, October 4. No school for students.


PSAT 10 - Testing on October 13th
ALL 10th graders will take the PSAT10 the morning of October 13th. All testing will happen on the top floor of the 1000 building. Classroom assignments will be posted in the hall outside of Counseling before that day. Report to your assigned room by 8am. Testing runs until 7th period - snacks will be provided.
