Wood BOE meets Tuesday

 

PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Board of Education will meet Tuesday, June 13, in both special and regular sessions.

Both meetings will be held at the Wood County Schools Central Office at the corner of Plum and 13th streets in Parkersburg. Both meetings are open to the public and will be streamed online.

The board will meet in special session at 4 p.m. Tuesday to conduct the superintendent’s evaluation and establish the superintendent’s goals for the 2023-24 school year. Portions of the meeting may be conducted in executive session. A vote on those items will occur during the regular meeting. 

The regular meeting will begin at 6 p.m. The agenda includes recognitions for Wood County Schools resource officers, Human Resources Department updates, information concerning aides in first grade classrooms, Special Education Department updates, and an update on alternative education programs. 

In addition to personnel and contract items, the board will vote on the appointments of a new Director of Purchasing, Director of Elementary Education, and Director of Transportation for Wood County Schools. The board also will vote on four employee suspensions.
