Wood BOE meets Tuesday at Kanawha Elementary
PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Board of Education will meet Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023, in regular session at Kanawha Elementary School.
Kanawha Elementary is located at 6465 Staunton Tpk. in Davisville. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. and will be streamed online. The meeting is open to the public.
The school board will hold a public hearing for comments on the proposed 2024-25 school calendar.
The board will receive a presentation by Andy Neptune, Executive Director of the School Building Authority of West Virginia, on the NEEDs Grant awarded to Wood County Schools.
Kanawha Elementary Principal Matt Null will present an academic report on the school. Dr. Yvonne Santin, Director of Special Education, will provide an update on special education, and Kaleb Lawrence, Assistant Superintendent of Operations, will provide an update on facilities.
In addition to financial and personnel matters, the board will consider two employee disciplinary actions and policies concerning school resource officers.
