Wood BOE to meet Monday, Tuesday

 

PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Board of Education will meet in both special and regular session next week.

A special session will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, at the Wood County Schools Central Office at 1210 13th Street in Parkersburg and is open to the public. The board will accept and announce applications for an interim board position. Following the announcement of candidates, the board will go into executive session to conduct interviews. When the interviews are completed the board will return to open session to announce the appointment. 

The board will meet in regular session at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024, at Jefferson Elementary Center, 1103 Plum Street, Parkersburg. The meeting is open to the public and will be streamed online

The meeting will begin with a dedication of a new Wood County Schools logo by Parkersburg High School students and a recognition of students at Blennerhassett and VanDevender middle schools for completing i-Ready lessons in math and English. 

The board will receive a presentation on new Transportation Department uniforms and an update on attendance. 

Cathy Grewe, Coordinator of Assessment and Student Services, will present information on a Mental Health Service Professional Demonstration grant program with Marshall University.
