Wood BOE meets Tuesday

PARKERSBURG - The Wood County Board of Education will meet Tuesday evening in regular session.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Jefferson Elementary Center at 1103 Plum Street in Parkersburg. The meeting is open to the public and will be streamed online.

The meeting will begin with multiple recognitions, including Jane Irvine as a Wood County Schools Outstanding Supporter, WV Music Education Association All-State Children's Chorus, WV American Choral Director's Association Junior High Honor Choir, WV American Choral Director's Association High School Honor Choir, Southern Region American Choral Director's Association Honor Choir, WV Music Education Association All-State Chorus, Regional Solo and Ensemble Superior Rating, Regional Solo and Ensemble Recital, and the Wood County Middle School Honor Choir.

Officials will announce the selection of the 2025 Wood County Schools Teacher of the Year.

The board also will receive a presentation on mathematics instructional materials and updates on facilities and the Wood County Technical Center.

In addition to personnel and financial items, the board will receive information from and hold discussion with legal counsel regarding negotiations related to advanced construction planning for a new school in Lubeck.
