Leaders from across the community gathered today to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Vienna Elementary School, which will be built adjacent to the WVU Parkersburg Innovation and Technology Center (ITC). The ceremony brought together local officials, including Vienna Mayor, Chad Emrick, Board of Education Members Justin Raber, Judy Johnson, Ron Tice, Debbie Hendershot, and Randy Modesitt, Dr. Torie Jackson, President of WVU Parkersburg, Members of the WVUP Foundation including Olivia Reeder, Delegate Ferenbaucher, Wood County Economic Development, SQP, McKinley Associates, Pickering Associates, Chamber of Commerce, Business Partners of both Neale and Vienna Elementary schools, along with school leaders, students, and parents from Neale Elementary School, including Principal Doug Jones and Vienna Elementary School, with Principal Bree Marlow, and Andy Neptune, Executive Director of the School Building Authority of West Virginia to mark the start of construction on the modern learning facility. The new school represents a major investment in the future of education in the Vienna community and will provide updated learning spaces designed to support students for years to come. Community members in attendance celebrated the milestone as the project officially moved from planning into construction.
