LUBECK, WV — A group of Lubeck Elementary Pre-Kindergarten students recently had a special opportunity to step into the future as they toured the construction site of the new Lubeck Elementary School, set to open for the 2027–2028 school year.

Despite a light rain falling throughout the visit, the young learners remained enthusiastic as they explored the developing campus. Equipped with safety guidance and accompanied by school staff, the students observed firsthand the progress being made on what will soon be their new school.

The highlight of the trip for many students was the chance to see the large construction equipment up close. Towering bulldozers, excavators, along with other captivating machines caught their attention and sparked countless questions. Teachers noted that the students were eager to learn about how buildings are made and what each piece of machinery does.

Throughout the visit, the children pointed out areas that might one day become classrooms, playgrounds, or hallways, already imagining themselves in the new space. For many, it was their first experience visiting an active construction site, making the trip both educational and memorable.

The new Lubeck Elementary School is part of a long-term investment in providing modern, safe, and engaging learning environments for students in the community. Once completed, the building will offer updated facilities designed to support student growth and success for years to come.

For these Pre-K students, the rainy-day visit was more than just a field trip—it was a glimpse into their future and an exciting milestone in their early educational journey.
